Chapter 19: Liar

This morning Mario was going to do something that he'd never thought he had to do, Spy on Luigi. Mario sat on the couch and waited, Luigi said he was going to go out for a little bit. However Luigi didn't specify where, which made Mario a tad suspicious. "Hey Mario I'm about to head out", Luigi said buttoning his overalls. "Where are you going again?", Mario asked. Luigi looked a tad nervous," No where important, just walking around, I might meet up with Waluigi". Luigi slid on his boots and walked out the door. Mario quickly ran to the window and peaked out to wait for the right moment to follow Luigi. (Forgive me Bro). Mario exited his house and began to follow Luigi. He noticed that Luigi wasn't taking a path to the mushroom kingdom, but somewhere else. (Where are you going)?

It felt like hours of following Luigi and Mario was being to grow tired. However Mario soon knew where Luigi was going. His surroundings were oh so familiar. (What could Luigi be doing here at Bowser's Castle).  Mario felt hurt but also guilty. Why would Luigi hide this from him, is he really the traitor. Mario watched as Luigi walked up to Bowser's Doors and knocked. Bowser opened the door and they both seemed quite happy to see each other. Mario started to become more and more worried by the minute. Mario quickly ran up to a window undetected and peaked through. He watched as the both began talking, the window was so thick that he couldn't hear a sound from inside. He watched and watched feeling angry with Bowser even more. (He better not be feeding my brother lies, he's always up to no good). Mario felt all his breath leave his body as he watch Luigi pull a folder out from under his jacket and handed it to Bowser. A folder, a folder looking similar to the documents that were stolen from the castle. "No....Luigi",Mario mumbled. He watched as Bowser gave him a hug, probably happy that Luigi stole for him. Mario had seen enough. Mario quickly got away from the window and ran home as fast as he could. He had to confront Luigi.

It was getting dark and Bowser offered to take Luigi home like he normally does. "Thanks for the ride Bowser", Luigi said hugging him. "No problem babe", Bowser growled. Luigi giggled and blushed. "You're so cute when you giggle". Bowser leaned in and kissed Luigi before waving goodbye and drove off. Luigi smiled all the way to his front door and in his house. Once in his house Luigi felt something was off. Mario was just sitting in the kitchen not saying a word to him. "Hey Mario", Luigi said happily. Mario didn't say a word and just sipped his coffee. "Where were you", Mario said. Luigi smiled still in a good mood from seeing Bowser. "Oh you know I was hanging with Waluigi, we went for a walk to catch up". "Liar". Luigi froze, Mario's voice sounded cold with built up rage. "What?", Luigi asked. "You're Lying", Mario replied. Luigi watched as he pulled out some pictures from his pocket and laied them all on the table. Luigi's blood ran cold as he gazed upon the images. "What where you doing in Bowser's Castle", Mario demanded. "Luigi began to tremble a bit," You were following me". "Why would you follow me I'm your brother for god sake, I've done nothing wrong". "Don't try and point the blame at me Luigi, Why were you there, ANSWER ME". Mario slammed his hands on the table scowling at Luigi," Yes I followed you because you've been acting real shady, now what the hell were you doing there". Luigi gulped, he wanted to just run away and not look back, but that wasn't an option now. "I...I was just talking with him that's all, but it was just one time", Luigi said. Mario again slammed his fist onto the table,"LIAR-". "-These photos were all taken on different days, is Bowser brainwashing you with lies, trying to make you turn on the kingdom you live in". "BOWSER WOULD NEVER DO THAT", Luigi yelled back defending Bowser. Luigi paused for a moment," You think I'm the spy". "I don't want to think that, but you're making it hard not to believe you", Mario said his eyes stabbing Luigi repetitively. "I'm you're brother! Why don't you trust me", Luigi cried out. "You've done nothing but lie to me, and to top it off you defended Bowser, the same stupid animal that kidnapps peach".

Luigi began to feel a familiar darkness return, his rage that'd been suppressed ever since he saw Mario in the hospital. Luigi felt his anger trying to break from the chains that he tried hard enough to keep away. "What did you give Bowser today Luigi-", Mario demanded as he got up from his seat and stood inches away. "-What was it Luigi tell me". Luigi fell silent m, he felt it. He felt the overwhelming darkness slowly take over his body, the anger from before has been reborn into pure hatred. He no longer hated Mario for leaving him in Bowser's castle that day. He hated Mario, because of how quickly he would turn on him. Luigi felt betrayed, his own brother doesn't trust him, his own brother is blaming him for helping the enemy. He felt a tight grip on his arm and looked at Mario. "DONT YOU CARE ABOUT WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO THE PRINCESS AND THE PEOPLE", Mario yelled.

"No"

Mario's eyes widen as he looked at his brother,"what?".
Luigi stared at Mario with the burning rage ready to explode," I don't give one fuck about this kingdom or its goddam people-".  Luigi began yelling louder and louder,"- Everyday I have to live in your shadow, everything I do I looked down upon everything bad that could happen to me happens, Being in this kingdom is killing me".

"FUCK THE KINGDOM, FUCK THE PEOPLE, FUCK YOU, AND FUCK YOUR GOD DAMN DUMB BIMBO BITCH GIRLFRIEND PRIN-" 

Luigi felt an immense amount of pain on his face. His mind went blank and when he came to he was on the ground in front of his brother. Luigi shocked felt his face and felt the pain on his cheek. Mario had slapped him. Luigi felt more enraged but, something felt wrong. As he felt his face his anger turned into fear. His hatred for Mario shifted into being afraid of Mario. Luigi began to shake as his adrenaline began to die down and the pain from the slap got worse. He looked up at his brother who had rage still within his eyes. His face quickly softened when he looked at his hand and they Luigi.

"Oh...oh my god...L-Luigi I-I didn't", Mario stuttered. Mario began to panic he held his hand out to help Luigi but Luigi was afraid. The closer Mario got the More afraid Luigi became. "P-please I...Luigi I didn't mean to". Luigi got up and ran to his room locking the door and sliding down against it. He could hear Mario knocking on the door yelling his name.

Luigi began to cry, he was afraid. He didn't think the last person that would hurt him would be his own brother. He couldn't think anymore, he didn't feel like himself anymore, he felt weak. Worthless.
