Last chapter, the boy and Karia just managed to escape from the prison after an encounter with hundreds of soldiers and what seemed to be a Commander who was strong enough to completely overpower a weakened Karia.
???'s P.O.V.
I finally figured out the instructions of the boat, but I wasn't going to start driving until Karia was up so I wouldn't get us into more trouble or lost at sea. At first I was thinking we should leave the area as soon as possible, but most of the soldiers were unable to fight and even if there was reinforcements they would most likely focus on the defensive and help the already wounded.
5 hours later...
I was somehow sitting on the boat doing nothing for hours, glad that we were not being pursued.
Although the idea of knowing that I would be the only one to defend us if we were found was rather unsettling for the entire time.
This also gave me the time to think more about anything related to my past, but as that didn't work I started to try to find ways to cope with all of this.
Eventually I'm somehow able to push this to the back of my mind, and start to think of how this could be a new start for me- well, except for the fact that we're both criminals.
Anyways, right now it's late at night and I'm thinking of taking a quick nap, until I hear a noise from Karia's direction. Looking back at her I see that she's finally starting to get up.
"Ow... haha I really took a hit back there didn't I? Plus I had to use Escape Route as well..." she says groggily.
She starts to open her eyes more and looks around, "Ah, we made it on to the ship, that's good. Wow I really was out for a long time, it's already night!" she adds.
"Yeah you've been out for a few hours at least, and I didn't move the boat by the way I didn't want to risk going out to sea with no idea what the oceans even like."
"Good. Even though the Hopian sea is mainly safe there are some parts that are dangerous if you don't know what you're doing." she says reassuringly.
"Ah! I almost forgot Commander stabbed your hand are you okay?" She asks with concern.
"That's the weird thing, I thought she stabbed me as well but when I looked at my hand... there was no wound whatsoever." I say as I show her the hand that should have been stabbed with no injury to be found.
"That's weird, I could of sworn I saw her stab you as well... oh and thanks by the way, for saving me." I'm now feeling skeptical that it was just an illusion due to the fact that both me and Karia are certain that it happened, but considering what Karia did it's believable I guess.
"No, I should be the one thanking you, you broke me out in the first place." I reply honestly.
"My name's Karia which you probably already heard, nice to meet you." she says as she slowly stands up holding on to her injured chest.
"Um... you may not believe me, but I honestly don't remember my name or almost anything really, just some basic stuff like food and other things."
"Really?! I haven't heard of it before, but maybe someone used a memory wipe Blessing on you." she replies surprised.
"So you really don't know anything then..." I say sadly.
