Last chapter, Amandeath continued on with her fight against Restroid's troops- until they finally struck her down. However- after they tortured her to avenge their fallen comrades, the pain activated an "adrenaline" type ability in Amandeath- which let her mow through most of the men with little to no difficulty in a rampage. But now, even facing someone as intimidating as Amandeath- out of guilt, Elio steps up to the challenge of trying to take down the crazed sniper.

Amandeath's P.O.V.

"Hoooly fuck that's a lot of blood... shit if they were lying about retreating, I'm screwed." I think to myself as I'm hiding inside the corner of a dark room inside of the building I broke into, a cold cellar more specifically. ...At least I rubbed my blood onto the handles of the other doors to the rooms in this place, so they'll probably check those rooms first while I heal up...

On that note, to stop myself from saying hey to God- I slowly stick one of those healing bandaids onto my side where I got shot- but I accidentally stick it onto my hip instead,

"Ugh come on... wait, the hell?" I think to myself as I try to take the sickass bandaid off of me and move it, but it won't budge... even hurts a little... kinda like it. Anyways, I shrug my shoulders and take another bandaid out from the bag, sticking it onto my side properly this time. I take out another one and stick it onto my chin where I got shot and-

*EEEEEEEEEEEEEE!*

"That a fire alarm? Fuck- wait... no. They have a hacker, he probably just turned it on from a distance to draw me out. Or maybe not... nah probably, there's nothing to set on fire here I doubt- not that quick anyways. Either way, they're still after me- I need to get ready to fight again right away... but haaah, even with those bandaids on me I still feel like crap..." I think to myself as I at least painfully raise my arm towards the door to the pitch black room I'm in, if they decide to come in here I'll blast them. Could've gone for a place with windows but, didn't want to get shot at from the outside... not like I could've made it upstairs either...

*EEEEEEEEEEE!*

"...Waaaait what if I could activate that painkilling adrenaline power or whatever again? Thought it was just a fluke before agianst Karia but- it happened again here so there's gotta be some sort of trigger to it... seems like it activates when I get injured enough but- there's probably more to it than that, I've been closer to death than this before. ...It also seems like I get super mad when I use it... so then-"

I start to cough like hell, it's hard to breathe. So I use the dim blue light of my sniper scope to see that there's smoke in the air- haaaaah they really did set the place on fire, not even gonna ask how. I push myself off the ground as my head starts to spin, almost falling over but of course my face slams into the door I'm walking towards to catch my fall.

I push myself off of it, stand back and-

"Wait wait- I need a plan, quick. Umm- right so... there could be someone waiting outside the door, so I could fire a shot through it in advance to scare them but..." I start to cough again as I start to feel even worse and start to sweat, but my gunshot wounds seem healed up which is good I guess-

"No time- I'm gonna suffocate, I'll just run out, this place is lit up anyways so I doubt anyone is here-" I think to myself with a sigh as I swing the door open- and with no flames being in front of the room I run out the door. Looking to my left I can see a ton of flames burning up the dark hallway there- then quickly looking to my right, this side of the hallway's pretty well pitch black. Whatever I need to breathe- I crouch and start running towards the darkne-

*ZZT!*

My eyes open wide as I can see a blue beam of light appear out of nowhere which hits close to my head- but luckily it burns through my ear instead- and so I dive to the floor and swing my sniper arm up towards the end of the hallway-
