Last chapter, the trio arrived at the Hopian Continent which seemed like a nice place from the outside. Though that was just an illusion, and on the inside the Continent is literally and metaphorically always dark, with the outskirts being completely abandoned with ruined architecture. Now, Karia is leading the way through the dead city to get closer to the center of the Hopian Continent because she needs to talk to someone there...
Seric's P.O.V.
"Hm... you know how far we are from the outskirts now King Metallica?" I ask as me, him, and Karia are walking next to each other through a wide alleyway surrounded by two white bricked buildings (with Karia walking bit ahead of me at all times of course).
"Jeez this place is sketchy... I would never walk here alone." I think to myself as I zone out and stare ahead of me- to where I can barely even see what lies outside of this giant alleyway due to the dark skies and no lights.
"Ah! About... hm... based on this building here that I saw with Kodan a while back... 3 kilometers now! We'll be to the newer and more S.H.I.N.I.N.G. parts in a short while pal! And by that I mean quite a while!" King Metallica says which makes me smile a bit- though definitely not on the inside and stare back down towards the cracked gray pavement beneath us.
"Alright, thank-" I'm interrupted as a sharp pain pierces through my head and my entire body goes limp.
I collapse.
"Rank to Exterminate: A!" King Metallica exclaims as he spins his head around to me, and Karia, and up above above at insane speeds, before he charges towards Karia and tackles her to the floor.
*CLANG!*
At the same I hear the sound of two metal objects hitting each other, maybe Metallica's metal?!
King Metallica frantically spins his head around to look at me saying, "Pal, you're ok right?!"
"The hell are you doing?!" Karia complains as he's still lying over and covering her.
"It's a snipe-"
*CLACK!*
"AHHHHhhhhhh........" King Metallica gets interrupted as I hear the sound of something hitting metal again causing King Metallica to shake vigorously until he goes limp as well and starts to fall on top of Karia.
"Spirit of Kodan: K.O.!" Karia shouts as she punches into the air to the side of her while lying down.
Just before Metallica can squish her a giant red fist comes from beneath the ground and flies into our pals outstretched metal arm, causing him to flip over onto the opposite side of Karia with a thud.
"Shit- I can't move yet, this is just like with Aeko!! That means that someone really... Karia's in danger!!" I think to myself in panic and completely still of course.
"Fuck where the hell did the gunshots come from?! It has to be close by!" Karia hisses, with her now standing up and looking panicked and for cover as well but with none to be found.
"Spirit of Bersia: Hide of Aegis!" She finally starts to say as she quickly pulls her hide all around her for protection.
But from out of the dark up above an object starts zooming towards Karia which she luckily notices at the last second.
Though before she can even move the object- or person calmly says "My Reaction to Action", and lands on top of and cracks the circular open rim of Karia's translucent hide above her head. Using their momentum they bend down and grab Karia's face with both hands.
