I can't believe it's already morning. It feels like I just closed my eyes for a second, and now here I am, awake again. My eyes are heavy, and all I want to do is go back to sleep. I glanced at my alarm clock—7:30 am. I really have to get ready for work.

With a long sigh, I sat up in bed, still feeling sleepy and not wanting to face the day. But then I remembered—I need to pay the bills, so I have to go to work. I grabbed my phone to check for any important messages or notifications I missed while sleeping. There were three missed calls from SuMin, over 50 messages in our group chat, and a notification from @BTS_twttt.

Naturally, I clicked on the most important one first.

"Hi ARMY. Can't wait to see you soon. Wait for us, okay? We miss you!

#ItsBlurryImSorry"

It was a group selca of the boys. Aww, aren't they the cutest? I clicked like and typed out a reply.

"Looking good, boys! Good morning! Have fun today, and I love you! 💜"

After sending the reply, I locked my phone and headed to the bathroom to shower and get ready for work. SuMin and the group chat could wait.

"You did a great job today! Thanks for coming in!"

My boss smiled as my shift ended. Working in a restaurant, especially as an assistant chef, was always exhausting. You had to make sure every meal was cooked to perfection and, of course, tasted amazing for the customers. I went straight to my locker, took off my chef's uniform, and grabbed my phone to check for any important messages.

I completely forgot to call SuMin!

I dialed her number immediately, and she picked up on the second ring.

"Hello, stranger. What can I do for you?" SuMin greeted me sarcastically. This girl...

"Sorry, I got caught up with work. What's up? You called me at 4 am three times! Is everything okay? Did something happen?"

"Well, obviously something happened. I wouldn't call you at that hour if it wasn't important, Y/N!"

"Okay, shoot."

"My parents want me to fly back to California. They've given me a few weeks to get ready. I'm not sure when I'll be back, but I'll definitely come back. I can't leave my best friend alone, right?"

I didn't say anything. I was too stunned by what she said. My best friend is leaving, for who knows how long! Tears started to form in my eyes. I couldn't believe it. My life was about to get so boring without her. Plus, who was going to fangirl with me now?

"Girl, save the waterworks for later. I'm not leaving yet. I still have about two weeks before I go. Let's make the most of the time we have left! It's not like I'm going forever. My parents might only need me there for a few months. I told you already, I'll be back," she said, sensing my impending meltdown, knowing how much of a crybaby I am.

"Alright, but you better spend time with me and treat me well, or else you'll go back to Korea with no best friend!" I threatened, forcing a smile. I heard her chuckle from the other side of the line.

"Then hurry up and get out of work. I've been waiting outside for almost an hour now. I was going to surprise you."

I hung up the phone and rushed out of the restaurant after bidding my boss goodbye. I scanned the parking lot and spotted SuMin standing beside her car, leaning against it while checking her phone.

"You look like a boyfriend waiting for his date with the way you're standing outside your car," I joked, causing her to roll her eyes at me before getting inside.

"So, where are we going?" I asked.

"Your place. Let's just watch something and order pizza. I'm bored."

"Fine, but make sure to order chicken too! Come on, let's go."

We spent the rest of the evening in my bedroom, watching Run! BTS when the doorbell rang. That must be the pizza.

"I'll go get it," SuMin said as she stood up and walked toward the door. I grabbed my phone, thinking I'd check it while I waited. But as I looked at the screen, my eyes widened in shock. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
