The restaurant Jimin took me to was just a few minutes away from my workplace. The place was cozy and quiet—there were a few guests, but many tables were still vacant.
"This is where we often eat when we have time. It doesn't get crowded, but the food is amazing," Jimin explained as he noticed me looking around. I nodded, appreciating the calm vibe of the place. He led me to a table in the far corner, next to the glass windows where we could see the Han River. It felt like I was on a date.
The waitress came over to take our order, and I noticed her blushing as Jimin spoke to her. Jimin didn't even look at her while giving our order, but the waitress was acting like he had kissed her. I couldn't help but laugh.
Jimin looked up at me with a smile. "I love it when you laugh," he said, then went back to placing our order. I tilted my head, trying to process what he had just said, but I shrugged it off. Jimin is just an angel. He loves complimenting people, and that's all. Right, Y/N?
While waiting for our food, Jimin pulled out his phone and asked if I'd take a picture with him. I was too embarrassed, but who was I to say no? So I agreed, of course.
"How long have you been working at this restaurant?" he asked, casually looking at me as I spoke.
"For over three years. It was my first job," I replied, a little surprised by how closely he was listening to me.
We exchanged a few more words before our food arrived. Jimin looked so excited to eat that I had to pull out my phone and snap a picture of him.

"You look great in pictures, but honestly, you look even better in person," I told him, and his shy smile made him look even more endearing. He looked down at his food, embarrassed, and started eating. I put my phone down and began eating as well.
"I bet I'd look best if I'm with you. Don't you think?" Jimin said suddenly. I nearly choked on my food. He chuckled, handing me a glass of water to help me out.
"I was just kidding, Y/N. Don't choke, please." He laughed again, and I smiled, feeling much better after the water.
"April Fools is coming up soon. Are you ready for the big reveal?" Jimin asked, his voice light.
"Ready as I'll ever be." I thought about the prank coming on April 1st. I wasn't sure how they were going to announce it, but I had a feeling it was going to be a huge shock. I should probably mentally and emotionally prepare myself.
"Don't stress too much. I'm sure ARMY will be thrilled for you and Taehyung," Jimin reassured me, noticing I was lost in thought about the prank.
"I just hope it all goes well. And honestly, even if it's not me, I hope ARMY will be happy for all of you when you find someone," I said, trying to sound casual.
"So, how are you and Taehyung doing? We've noticed you two have been hanging out a lot lately," Jimin asked, his curiosity evident.
Taehyung and I had gotten closer over the past few days, having hung out together a few times. I didn't really have a bias in BTS—I loved all of them equally—but Taehyung had definitely caught my attention more recently. Spending time with him had made me appreciate him even more.
"Oh, sorry, Y/N. I have to take this call. Excuse me for a minute," Jimin said, standing up. I nodded, watching as he stepped away to answer the phone. It was probably their manager. He had been out all afternoon, and it was already past 7 p.m. I could imagine they were looking for him by now.
As I watched Jimin standing a little further from me, I realized something. He wasn't actually short, like how Jungkook teases him. He was actually quite tall compared to other guys I knew. For a normal guy, he was pretty tall. As I kept looking at him, Jimin suddenly turned and caught my gaze. His brows furrowed for a moment, but then he smiled, and I smiled back. He continued talking on the phone, but I couldn't help but wonder what he was thinking.
A few minutes later, Jimin returned and sat down across from me with a smile.
"Y/N, is it okay if we leave now? I lost track of time. I didn't realize I'd been out this long," he said, scratching the back of his neck with an apologetic smile.
I nodded, understanding that it was getting late. "Of course, no problem."
Jimin gave a small chuckle, then stood up, motioning towards the door. "I'll take you home," he said, his voice soft but certain.
He walked ahead, opening the car door for me, waiting for me to get in. Once I was settled in, he hurried around the car, slipping into the driver's seat.
"You can just drop me off at work. I'll take the bus from there," I suggested, but Jimin didn't listen. He kept his eyes on the road and continued driving. I leaned back in my seat and looked out the window, but Jimin suddenly chuckled.
"Don't pout. It's very ungentleman-like of me to let you go home alone by bus when you're already in my car," he said.
"...and Taehyung said I should make sure you get home safely." He added, but his tone changed. It was much more serious than before, like he was thinking about something he didn't want me to know.
Taehyung?
"Yeah. Taehyung called me earlier. When I told him I was having dinner with you, he asked me to head back because our manager was looking for me. And then he told me to make sure you got home safely," Jimin explained, but this time, his expression was more distant, as if something was on his mind.
Once we reached my place, I stepped out of the car, turning to face Jimin with a smile. He suddenly pulled me into a hug. His warmth surrounded me, and it felt so protective, like he was shielding me from something. We stayed like that for a few moments before I pulled away, feeling the awkwardness of the situation creeping in. My cheeks flushed a shade of pink.
"Thank you, Y/N. Promise me we'll go out again soon?" Jimin asked with that angelic smile of his. I nodded, a little overwhelmed by how charming he was.
He waved goodbye as he walked back to his car, and I watched until he disappeared around the corner.
Back at my house, I washed up and flopped onto my bed. I grabbed my phone and started scrolling through it, when suddenly Taehyung's name popped up on the screen. I quickly answered.
"Hello?"
"Taehyung! Hi!" I greeted him, my voice full of excitement. I hadn't heard from him in a few days, so I was happy to finally talk to him again.
"So, how was your date with Jimin?" Taehyung asked, his voice playful.
I immediately felt embarrassed. "It wasn't a date, we just had dinner," I clarified, but I wasn't sure why I felt the need to explain myself.
"Alright, then," Taehyung said with a hint of a grin in his voice. "But don't go out with him too much. I'll get jealous. I'm supposed to be your date."
"What are you saying, Kim Taehyung!" I couldn't help but laugh at his cuteness.
"No, really. Don't spend too much time with him. I don't like it," Taehyung said, sounding much more serious than I expected.
