"Taehyung?"

My head snapped toward the sound of her voice, and a smile instantly spread across my face. Just hearing her say my name made butterflies stir in my stomach. I gestured for her to sit across from me, and she did so willingly, while I leaned back in my chair.

"Sorry, it took me almost an hour. I just had to fix some things before leaving," she apologized, offering a soft smile.

I waved my hand dismissively. It's fine, I thought, though I'd have gladly waited even longer just to see her angelic face.

"Shall we?" I asked, standing up and offering my hand. She gladly took it, and together, we walked out of the restaurant, our hands still intertwined. When we reached my car, I opened the door for her and slid into the driver's seat.

"Where are you taking me?" she asked, looking at me with curiosity.

"I'm not telling you," I replied with a playful grin.

"Fine, then stop the car. I'm not going with you."

I pretended to pout, mimicking the expression of a whining puppy. She laughed, but I knew she wouldn't be able to resist.

"Alright, alright. I'm sure wherever you're taking me will be fun," she relented with a smile.

I nodded, flashing her my boxy grin, and she returned the gesture.

The drive was long, but we managed to arrive just in time.

"We're here," I said, excitement evident in my voice. But when I looked over, I saw her peacefully asleep, a soft expression on her face. She must have been exhausted. As much as I wanted her to stay asleep, I needed her to see what I had planned. Gently, I kissed the top of her head before waking her up.

"Sorry if I woke you, but we're here..." I whispered.

She stirred and slowly opened her eyes, blinking in confusion before realizing where we were.

She sat up quickly, and I hopped out of the car, jogging to open the passenger door for her. She smiled at me as she stepped out, and my heart skipped a beat.

"Wow... Taehyung, why are we here?" she asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.

Her smile was the sweetest thing I'd seen all day, and it melted my heart. I had always dreamed of coming to the beach to watch the sunset with someone, and now, with her by my side, it felt like the perfect moment.

"I've always wanted to watch the sunset with someone," I confessed.

"Why didn't you go with the other members?" she asked, genuinely curious.

"We've done that countless times, but being with someone... is different, you know?" I answered, my voice soft as I gazed at her.

She nodded, and I could feel my heart racing. I couldn't explain it, but I had to acknowledge it: my feelings for her were growing stronger.

"Just... let me tell you this. I'm not really sure what this is, but please be patient with me. It must be confusing for you, and it confuses me too. Just give me time. Please?" I said, my voice sincere and vulnerable.

I saw her frown slightly in confusion, but she nodded and turned her gaze toward the sea.

We sat in silence, watching the sunset as the peaceful sounds of the waves filled the air. Her head rested on my shoulder, and for the first time in a long while, I felt at ease. I knew she needed this too.

We stayed like that for a while, the golden light fading as the evening wore on. When it was time to leave, she stood up, slipped off her shoes, and stepped closer to the sea. I quickly pulled out my phone, capturing a photo of her in the moment. Then, silently, I put it away, cherishing the memory.

We arrived at her place around 9 p.m., and I couldn't shake the sadness that the day was over. It was time to go home.

She gave me a quick hug before stepping out of my car, not even waiting for me to open the door for her. I rolled down the window and waved goodbye as she walked away, then I drove off, heading back to the dorm.

"Ya! Where were you?!" Jin's voice rang through the air like a mother scolding a child when we walked through the door.

"I was out with a friend, hyung," I muttered, trying to avoid the tension in the air.

"Yeah, with your slacks still wet. WHERE. WERE. YOU?!" Jin's voice grew louder, causing everyone to stop and look at us.

"Jeez, hyung, why do I have to tell you everything? I said I was with a friend! I'm home now, and I'm not hurt or anything!" I raised my voice without meaning to, earning a smack from Yoongi hyung. Why is everyone so upset?

"You must've forgotten he's older than you," Yoongi hyung commented, his tone calmer but with a slight edge.

"Why can't you just say you were with Reese? You know we don't want you to get hurt again. Why do you keep going back to her?" Jin pressed further.

My patience snapped. "You all must've forgotten that I'm not a kid anymore. And I wasn't with her!! I said I was with a friend!" My anger bubbled over, and before I could stop myself, tears welled up in my eyes. I hated how I couldn't control them, how they always betrayed me when I felt like this.

"Taehyung, stop lying!" Jimin chimed in, adding to the pressure. I rubbed my face in frustration, trying to hold it together, but the tears started to fall anyway.

Namjoon hyung sighed deeply and walked over to me, pulling me into a hug. The comfort only made the tears fall harder. I knew they were just worried, but why did it hurt so much to feel like they didn't believe me?

"You're all so noisy! Why don't you sit down and talk about this calmly?" A voice cut through the tension, and we all turned to see Jungkook emerging from his room in his pajamas, clearly irritated from being woken up by the shouting.

No one spoke a word. We all moved to the living room, where Jungkook took his place across from me. Despite being the youngest, when Jungkook was angry, nobody dared to speak out of turn.

"Now, tell me what happened, hyung." He smiled at me, showing his bunny teeth, but his tone was serious. He had his honorifics back on, as if the earlier outburst had never happened.
