I glanced at my iPad, and the time was already 7:30 a.m. I saw Jimin standing by the door, looking at me. It was still early, and I was barely awake.
"Good morning to you too, Jimin," I mumbled, rolling onto my side and attempting to go back to sleep.
"Oh no, you're not sleeping again!" He jumped onto the bed, wrapping himself around me. It felt like a mochi hug, but heavier than I expected.
"You're heavy!!"
"Tell me where you went last night."
"I went to the park."
"And?"
"I went there to relax and think about stuff." I tried to answer his questions while keeping my eyes closed, hoping to fall back asleep, still trapped in his grip.
"And... you were alone?"
"Uh... yeah."
"Stop lying, Tae. We saw Y/N's post on Twitter. That was you, right?"
I quickly sat up, grabbing my phone to check Y/N's post. There it was—me, sitting on the concrete steps at the park, holding my phone.
Jimin silently watched me as I tried to remember why I was holding my phone at that moment.
"Reese."
"Reese?"
"She sent me a message last night."
"What? The nerve of that bi—"
"I didn't reply. I deleted her message right away." I cut Jimin off before he could finish. Honestly, it still stings when people talk badly about her, no matter how right they are. And Jimin calling Reese a "bitch" was something I didn't want to hear.
"Okay. And what about Y/N? Why do you hang out with her so much lately?"
I paused for a second, then looked at Jimin.
"Remember we have to hang out to make the prank work? You all wanted me to do it. Why are you asking me now?" I answered a bit too defensively. Why was I getting so worked up?
"Alright. But... do you like her?"
I froze. I turned to Jimin, and he wasn't joking. He was dead-serious.
"Uh... I like her as a person. That's it."
Jimin simply nodded, got off my bed, and left the room without saying another word, leaving me completely stunned.
What's going on with Jimin?
It was already lunchtime when Jin hyung knocked on my door, announcing that lunch was ready and everyone was already at the table.
I sluggishly got out of bed and headed to the dining room, where everyone was eating.
"Ya, what took you so long?" Jin hyung scolded as the others continued eating.
"I was too lazy to get out of bed," I shrugged, then dug into the meal. Jin hyung's cooking was always a masterpiece. I complimented him, which made him smile and nod in appreciation.
"So, Tae, you've been doing a great job hanging out with Y/N. Your posts are very discreet. I'm sure ARMYs are already making theories about your weird posts," Namjoon hyung suddenly spoke up. Jimin, still quiet, observed.
"Yeah. It was really nice hanging out with her. I enjoy her company," I said honestly. I really did enjoy being with her. I could just be myself around her without worrying about making a fool of myself, knowing she wouldn't judge me.
"That's nice. You should probably double up your efforts, though. April Fool's is coming in a week," Yoongi hyung added, taking a gulp of water. Jin hyung and Jungkook nodded in agreement.
"Ah hyung, can we also hang out with her? It was really fun when we had the sleepover with her. She was really nice," Jungkook said, his eyes lighting up when he talked about Y/N. It wasn't just that he was excited—there was something else in his eyes. I couldn't help but wonder... does he like Y/N?
After lunch, everyone went off to their usual routines—RM hyung went for a walk, Yoongi hyung went to his studio to work, Hoseok hyung was in his room working on his mixtape, and Jin hyung went shopping with Jungkook and Jimin. I was left alone at home, feeling bored. I tried texting Y/N again, but she still hadn't replied.
I decided to kill time by playing Overwatch. Then my phone beeped, and I eagerly grabbed it, hoping it was Y/N finally replying to my message. But when I saw the notification, I was disappointed.
@reesejung92: Taehyung, can you at least talk to me?
I wasn't supposed to open the message, but my finger betrayed me. I tapped the message open. She was still online, so I decided to reply back.

I knew she was about to reply, and I wasn't in the mood to talk to her. So, I decided to continue playing Overwatch, placing my phone out of reach.
After a while, my phone suddenly rang. Thinking it was Reese, I chose to ignore the call until it stopped. Then it rang again... and again... and again.
I lost count of how many times my phone rang. Knowing it was probably Reese, I didn't bother to check and kept playing.
Then, a loud bang echoed from my room's window. I stood up to see where the noise came from. To my surprise, Jin hyung stood outside, his face flushed with anger, holding a mountain of shopping bags. He shouted words I couldn't quite hear since I hadn't opened the window, but I knew he was cursing me. I rushed to the front door and saw him walking toward me, still visibly annoyed. After walking past me and dropping the bags, he turned to face me.
"Ya!!! I've been calling your phone hundreds of times for you to open the door, but you haven't answered!!!! I was outside for 3 hours!!!" My eyes widened as I realized it was Jin hyung calling earlier, not Reese. I ran to my room, leaving Jin hyung still nagging, to check my phone. There, I saw 42 missed calls from Jin hyung. I facepalmed myself for being so stupid, thinking it was Reese calling and not Jin hyung. Poor hyung.
