Taehyung stood up, his eyes red from crying.
"So this is all because of the money?" His voice was shaky, filled with disbelief.
"I thought it was just me, I thought I was overthinking because of everything that happened before. But it turns out my gut was right. You used me!"
Taehyung's voice, once soft with hurt, now carried a sharp edge of anger. Reese started to fake cry, trying to convince him with pleading words.
"No, Taehyung, listen to me. I love you! Please don't listen to them. You know I would never do that to you! They're just trying to tear us apart."
Taehyung shook his head, his frustration growing as he turned away from her and began walking off.
I felt a knot form in my chest, my emotions all over the place. I knew I shouldn't be so affected, but after everything, Taehyung had become special to me in some way. Jimin, noticing my distress, quickly wrapped his arms around me.
Before we knew it, Taehyung had disappeared from view, and Reese's angry voice filled the space.
"You think you can just ruin us like this? You're wrong. Taehyung will come crawling back to me. You all really think he'll pick you over me?" She sneered at us. "Why are you so obsessed with him? You already have Jimin, don't you? Can't he make you happy? You just want Taehyung to feel jealous because you replaced him!"
Her words were venomous, her laugh crazy as she pointed fingers at us.
"You're all going to pay for this. You might've ruined our night, but you won't ruin our relationship. I'll show you. You'll all see!"
Yoongi, ever the calm one, stood firm and spoke with cold authority.
"Show us what? That you're a joke? We already know. Now get lost."
Without a word, Yoongi shooed her away, and Reese left, muttering curses under her breath, not looking back.
I suddenly felt exhausted, drained from everything that had just happened. My legs felt weak, like all my energy had been sucked out of me. I never wanted to experience something like that again.
"Well... I guess we succeeded?" Jungkook sighed, packing up, but there was a clear disappointment in his tone.
"Ya, Jungkook-ah, why do you look so upset?"
"Hyung, didn't you see how painful it was for Taehyung? Do you really have to do this in front of everyone?"
"Jungkook-ah, even if we did this 'privately,' it still involves all of us. We're all living in the same house, remember?"
"Yeah, but Reese didn't need to be here. We could have just told him without involving her."
"She needed to be here so Taehyung could ask her himself. She's the only one who could answer his questions," Yoongi explained calmly.
Jungkook sighed and nodded reluctantly, clearly struggling with the emotional weight of it all.
It had been weeks since that night in the garden, and Taehyung still hadn't recovered.
The members tried reaching out, but he shut them all out. He was heartbroken, and everyone knew it.
I was about to leave work when my phone rang. It was Namjoon.
"Y/N, are you busy? Can you come over?"
"What's wrong?" I asked, already feeling a knot in my stomach.
"Just... we need to talk to you about something."
"Can't it wait?"
"I don't think so. Jimin will be there in five minutes."
"Alright, I'll be there."
I had no idea what was going on, but judging by Namjoon's serious tone, it wasn't good. Jimin showed up shortly after, and we headed to the car in silence. The tension in the air was thick, and I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.
"Can someone just tell me what's going on?" I asked, trying to ease the nerves gnawing at me.
Jimin smiled, but it wasn't his usual cheerful grin. "You'll find out soon enough. Just wait a little longer."
We arrived at the dorm, and Jin was standing by the door, looking less than happy.
"What happened? Why is everyone acting so weird?" I asked, my frustration starting to show.
Then, I saw Jungkook in the corner of the room, playing with a helium balloon, his voice high-pitched as Hobi chased him around.
"Ah, hyung! We have to—n-noona!" Jungkook quickly tried to hide the balloon behind his back, but it was too late. I saw him holding it and raised an eyebrow.
Jin, facepalming in exasperation, disappeared down the hall. I was completely confused.
"So, what's going on?" I turned to Jimin, trying to get some answers.
Jimin scratched the back of his head awkwardly, but before he could say anything, a voice rang out from down the hall.
"WHAT THE HELL IS TAKING PARK JIMIN SO LONG???" It was Yoongi, and I could tell from his tone that he wasn't happy.
Jimin looked like he was about to speak but instead let out an awkward laugh. He reached for my hand, pulling me gently toward the hallway.
"You'll know soon enough. It's time," he said, his expression unreadable.
"Time for what?" I asked, feeling a mixture of confusion and dread.
Jimin nodded but remained silent as he led me down the hall.
