TWENTY EIGHT

TAEHYUNG'S POV

I got home with a smile on my face, recalling what my mom told me before we left Daegu.

"Keep her. She's worth it."

I quietly opened the front door, careful not to wake up the members. The living room was dark, and the house felt quiet, so I made my way up to my room. It had been a tiring yet wonderful day.

"Taehyungiiiieee~ how was your date?"

I jumped as Jimin appeared in front of me the second I opened the door. Behind him, I saw the members gathered in my room.

"Ya, why are you all here?" I raised an eyebrow, feeling a bit startled.

"We're waiting for you. Remember, we're ending the prank before the day ends."

I checked the time—it was almost 12 am. Right, we still had to let ARMYs know that everything was just a prank.

I dropped my bag and sat beside Jimin, who was already on his phone, opening our Twitter account.

"Taehyung, you should be the one to type and tell ARMYs that it's just a prank."

A sudden pang hit my chest. I didn't want to end it yet. There was something in me that didn't want to let go. Taehyung, do something!

"Ah hyung... can't we extend the prank for like a month?" I smiled nervously, looking around at the members, who all turned to face me. Jimin, still holding his phone, looked at me with a raised brow, surprised.

"Uh... I just thought it might be a good idea to make it look really convincing. ARMYs are taking it positively, so..." I trailed off, glancing nervously at RM hyung, hoping for his support. Then I looked over at Jungkook, who had started the prank. Maybe he'd be on my side.

"Is that the only reason why you want to extend the prank?" Yoongi hyung looked at me skeptically, as if he could see right through me.

But I wasn't hiding anything. I just thought it could be more convincing.

"Yeah, hyung. It would be better if we dragged it out for a bit longer, you know? We want ARMY to really believe it."

"Fine then. Do what you want. But just make sure there are no damages during the prank, Taehyung. A month is still a month. Anything can happen," RM hyung said, letting out a sigh. He stood up, tapping my shoulder as he left my room.

Jimin glanced at Hoseok hyung, and I saw him shake his head in disbelief. The two of them stood up, locking their phones before heading out with Jungkook. Yoongi followed behind, leaving me and Jin hyung alone in my room.

"...And no hearts get broken. Good night, Tae," Jin hyung said, glancing back at me before closing the door. I sighed and lay back on my bed, processing everything. Why did they all seem disappointed? Was it that bad of an idea to extend the prank? Don't they want me to spend more time with Y/N?

I closed my eyes, trying to push aside the thoughts and drifted off to sleep.

YOUR POV

I finished washing up after Taehyung dropped me off. Laying down on my bed, I was still in a bit of shock that he kissed me. He took me to meet his parents, then kissed me twice in one day. Does that mean he likes me? Oh no, no Y/N. Stop assuming things.

But, wait... do I like him? I think I might be starting to like Taehyung.

As I was about to put my phone down, I remembered that Taehyung was supposed to announce that our relationship was just a prank. But I hadn't received any notifications from Twitter yet. Did they forget? Or was Twitter just acting up again?

I opened the app and went straight to BTS' account but found no updates. Maybe they forgot? Should I remind him?

I quickly typed out a message to him.

Me: Taehyung?
You guys forgot you should
tell everyone that our relationship
was just a prank.

I waited for a reply, but there was nothing. Maybe he's not home yet? I decided to send a DM to BTS' Twitter account, but just as I was about to, my phone beeped. I checked Kakao to see that Jimin had sent me a message.

Jimin:
Hey Y/N! 😊

Me:
Oh Jimin, hello!
How are you?

Jimin:
I'm great. You?
Why are you still awake?

Me:
Ah, I just finished washing up.
Anything I could help you with?

Jimin:
Nothing much.
I just wanna talk to you.

Me:
😂 okay then.
Ah Jimin?
Did you guys forget to announce that Taehyung and I's relationship is just a prank?

Jimin:
Yeah, we're supposed to but
Taehyung wanted not to.

Me:
Huh?
What do you mean?

Jimin:
I'm too lazy to type.
Can I call instead? 😊

Me:
Sure, go ahead.

And just like that, my heart started racing, wondering what Jimin was about to say.
