I rushed to the park, my mind racing with thoughts of Reese, wondering if I had kept her waiting too long. I don't even know why I care about her waiting, but it feels wrong to make a girl wait in this cold, dark place. It's just not the gentlemanly thing to do.
As I arrived, there was no sign of her. She's late? This is the first time she's ever kept me waiting. Normally, she's always here early, often getting annoyed at me for being on time while she's already waiting.
I decided to sit on the swing while I waited, looking around and remembering the times Reese and I used to sneak out to play here. I almost got kicked out of the group for always being late to practices because I'd spend so much time with her.
"Taehyung?" I turned my head, hearing her voice. Reese stood behind me.
"Let's talk. I don't have all night." I glanced at my watch as I waited for her to speak. She sighed heavily, and when I looked at her, I saw tears in her eyes.
"Taehyung, I still love you. Please, I need you back."
YOUR POV
It's been a few days since my last meeting with Taehyung, but we've been keeping in touch through late-night texts, video calls, and sweet endearments. I can honestly say we're both happier now—happier than before, after confessing our feelings to each other. We're starting to feel and act like a real couple, even though BTS isn't in the picture. We've decided to keep it between us for now, waiting until the prank ends to tell the others.
I woke up feeling unusually lazy, not really in the mood for work. There's this odd feeling in my chest, like something's wrong, but I shrugged it off. I had to get up and earn some money, or else I'd end up eating my BTS merch for breakfast and lunch.
After my shower, I heard someone knocking on my door. I decided to finish getting dressed before answering. But as I was putting on my clothes, the knocking grew louder. Now, someone was banging on my door, and it was starting to get annoying. I went to the door and opened it, only to be greeted by six smiling young men holding balloons, flowers, and a cake.
"Y/N! Happy Birthdaaaay!" they chorused, barging into my house without even waiting for an invitation.
"Wait, what day is it?" I must've completely forgotten the date, with all the work and time spent with Taehyung in the past few weeks.
"April 12th, Thursday! How could you forget it's your birthday?" Yoongi said, stepping closer with the cake in his hand. Jimin lit the candle, and they all began singing Happy Birthday, eagerly waiting for me to blow out the candle.
"Make a wish, BTS' princess." I couldn't help but smile at the nickname RM gave me. I closed my eyes and made my wish—hoping for more happy moments with BTS, good health, and for Taehyung's happiness.
"Yaaay! Happy birthday, noona!" Jungkook playfully swiped his finger through the cake and smeared some icing on my cheek, and they all hugged me. We were all enjoying ourselves, but I couldn't help but notice that Taehyung wasn't here again. He hadn't contacted me at all since yesterday.
I turned off the stove and began setting the table for everyone. Jin, noticing, was kind enough to help me set things up.
"Penny for your thoughts?" Jin asked with a smile as he placed the plates on the table. I returned his smile but then asked, "Do you know where Taehyung is?"
"He didn't come home last night. We all assumed he'd be with you since, you know, it's your birthday. I was surprised you were alone when we arrived." Jin's voice lowered as he came closer to me, as if he was sharing a secret.
Taehyung didn't come home last night? Where could he be?
"Ah, I see. He must've gone home to Daegu," I said, trying to hide my disappointment that Taehyung wasn't here to celebrate with me.
Jin patted my shoulder and returned to the living room to join the others. After we ate and had fun, the boys decided to leave since I still had to work.
"Y/N, there's a customer outside who wants to speak with you," my boss called out. I remembered when Jimin and Hoseok were here last time, and my boss asked me to speak with a customer. I smiled and washed my hands before leaving the kitchen.
But when I stepped out, there were no customers. Instead, all my coworkers, including my boss, were lined up, smiling at me. As I walked closer, they parted to reveal Taehyung, holding a bouquet of flowers and a cake. Everyone started singing Happy Birthday.
I'm not usually this emotional, but after thinking Taehyung had forgotten my birthday, I felt touched. Tears started to well up in my eyes.
"Happy Birthday, princess. Make a wish," Taehyung said. I looked up at him, then blew out the candle. I had already made a wish earlier with BTS, so I didn't need to do it again. Taehyung kissed my forehead, set the cake down, then pulled something from his pocket. He walked up to me, stood behind me, and placed a necklace around my neck. When he finished, he stood in front of me, flashing that signature boxy smile.
"Just like I imagined. It looks perfect on you. Happy Birthday, Y/N."
I looked at the necklace—gold with a moon and star pendant.

"You're the moon, and I'm the star. I'll watch over you wherever you are."
I hugged him so tightly, my heart full. I couldn't contain my feelings for him anymore; I was falling for him even more.
"Thank you so much, Taehyung. I didn't expect this."
"It's your special day. You should feel special today... and every day," he said, taking my hand and leading me to one of the restaurant's seats. But then, I noticed something strange—there were no other customers.
"I rented the whole place. They'll serve us today. Eat as much as you want!" Taehyung said enthusiastically, his cuteness making me smile. He looked like a child waiting to be fed.
As we ate and talked, Taehyung's phone rang. He stared at it but didn't answer, simply hanging up. I wasn't trying to be nosy, but when the caller ID flashed, I noticed the unregistered number.
"You should get that call, Tae," I said, concerned. He hesitated, then rejected the call again.
When the phone rang once more, I urged him to pick it up. The number had called several times already. Taehyung kissed my cheek before standing up and walking outside to answer it.
I sat down, watching him through the restaurant window. He looked worried, almost angry, and in an instant, he ran toward his car and drove off.
