YOUR POV
"So... I guess this is it. Take care of yourself, okay? Eat well and make sure you keep me updated! Do you understand?" SuMin's voice wavered as she spoke, her eyes welling up with tears. This was the first time we'd be apart, so I understood the heaviness she must have felt. I pulled her into a tight embrace, holding her for a moment before finally letting go, offering a reassuring smile.
"Relax, I'll be fine. You take care of yourself, too. Stop crying! You're going to make me cry, and it's not like you're gone forever, tch." I gently wiped away her tears with my thumb and waved toward the airport entrance. SuMin was about to leave any minute now. As much as I wished she could stay, I knew her family needed her. She grabbed her luggage and walked toward the entrance, casting one last glance at me, waving as she went. I waved back until she disappeared from sight. Letting out a deep sigh, I stepped out of the airport and slid into SuMin's car. Yes, she'd kindly let me borrow it while she was away. Even though I told her I was fine taking the bus to work, she insisted it was more convenient. The amount of affection this girl had for me was beyond belief.
As I drove home, my thoughts drifted back to the last words Yoongi had spoken to me the night before.
Don't fall in love with Taehyung.
How was that even possible?
I mean, yes, Taehyung was undeniably good-looking and kind, but he almost seemed too perfect, like a dream. And this prank was only going to last a few days—there's no way anything would develop from it. Plus, once the prank ended, communication would likely stop, and I'd go back to being just another fan.
I was starting to feel a bit hungry, so I stopped by the convenience store near Hannam, the same one I'd visited before. I grabbed some ramen and banana milk, then found my usual spot in the corner. Moments later, a tall man with blonde hair, glasses, and a black mask walked into the store. He looked... familiar.
Taehyung.
I quickly lowered my gaze to my ramen, trying to focus on eating without drawing attention to myself. Why was I acting so shy all of a sudden? He hadn't even noticed me.
Just as I was about to take another bite, someone slid into the seat across from me. My heart inexplicably began to race. I glanced up and found Taehyung smiling at me, holding a cup of ramen in his hand.
"Is this seat taken?" he asked, his voice soft but warm.
I smiled back and shook my head. Then I turned my attention back to my ramen, feeling my heartbeat accelerate again. Why was I so flustered?
"Would you mind if I eat with you? It's kind of lonely eating alone," he said, pouting in that way that made my heart melt. How was it that he could go from "cool" to "adorable" in an instant?
"Sure, I don't mind." He gave a small nod of approval, and we both continued eating in companionable silence. But I could feel my heart racing—was it because Taehyung was one of the members I hadn't spent much time with compared to the others?
Then, I remembered Jin's advice: Taehyung and I should hang out. This might be a perfect opportunity to get to know each other... just for the prank, of course.
"So, Y/N," Taehyung said, breaking the quiet, "how are you feeling about the prank? Are you comfortable with it?" His question caught me a bit off guard, even though I'd answered it before, but I appreciated him checking in.
"Yeah, I'm good with it. Honestly, it's an honor." I chuckled, meaning every word. Who wouldn't jump at the chance to be part of something like this?
"I'm glad you're okay with it. I was actually against Jungkook's idea at first," he admitted.
