"Y/N! Where are you going?" My heart races as I bolt out of the café's door, but a hand suddenly grabs my wrist. I whip around to find Mikka standing there, eyes wide with concern.
"Mikka! I don't have time, I need to go. Why are you so late?" I ask, my voice sharp. I can't stand waiting. But then, a strange feeling of gratitude bubbles up inside me. If Mikka hadn't been late, I wouldn't have overheard Reese's disgusting confession. I wouldn't have seen her for who she truly is.
Mikka gives me a sheepish look, scratching the back of her neck, but before she can say anything, I pull her into a hug.
"But you know what? Thank you for being late," I say, pulling away and smiling. Just as I start to step away, she grabs my arm again.
"Where are you going? Don't tell me you're just going to leave? I didn't come all the way to Seoul from Daegu just to be left behind," she protests.
She's right, I should stay. I need to think about how to handle this. I can't just storm into their dorm and blurt out everything about Reese. I take a deep breath, trying to calm my racing thoughts.
"Fine. But let's go somewhere else. I don't want to stay here," I mutter, glancing back at the café door, my mind swirling with what I just heard.
"Y/N!!"
I spin around at the sound of a voice interrupting me, and there she is—Reese.
"Hi, Reese," I force a smile, my mind scrambling to keep my cool. I can't let her know that I know everything.
"I didn't know you came here," she says, looking at me with that smug smile that makes my stomach churn. "It's a bit far from where you're staying, right?"
"Yeah, I just needed to meet a friend here... ah, by the way, this is Mikka, my friend," I say, trying to sound casual, like nothing happened. Reese extends her hand to Mikka, who shakes it politely.
"I'm Reese," she says with a tilt of her head. "I'm BTS V's girlfriend."
I want to roll my eyes so badly. She really has the nerve to say that out loud, like she's some queen. As if she's genuinely in love with Taehyung.
"Ah, but anyway, I need to go. I have a client to meet today," she continues, with a flip of her hair. "See you guys around. It was nice meeting you, Mikka."
She waves with those long, slim fingers and walks off, leaving me to stew in my anger.
"What a weird bitch," Mikka mutters, eyes narrowing at Reese's retreating figure.
"Ugh, you can say that again," I reply, shaking my head in disbelief.
"What a weird bitch."
"Why are you repeating it?"
"You told me to say it again. But seriously... does she really have to tell me she's BTS V's girlfriend? Is she a fangirl, or is she really his girlfriend?" Mikka asks, clearly confused. We start walking towards another café nearby.
"Sadly, she really is Taehyung's girlfriend," I say with a sigh.
"But doesn't she realize how dangerous it is to announce that to people, considering her boyfriend is literally a worldwide sensation?" Mikka says, shaking her head in disbelief.
"Well, she—"
"...And didn't you and Taehyung date? I saw it on Twitter once. What happened?" Mikka's questions are coming fast and furious, and it's making my head spin.
"Uh... I—"
"And when did you two break up? Why are you friends with his new girlfriend? Is that a trend in Seoul? To be friends with your ex's new girlfriend? Why—"
