"No, really, I mean it. Don't be with Jimin all the time. I don't like it."

Huh?

We stayed silent for a while — me, surprised by Taehyung's sudden outburst, and him, probably surprised by his own words. Although he said it in a calm, monotonous tone, I still felt a nervous twinge. I've never heard him so serious before.

"Uh... you know, because the prank is coming, and... uh... ARMYs might think it's Jimin you're dating, not me." Taehyung was the first to speak, clearing his throat. And although he couldn't see me, I felt relieved he wasn't actually mad at me.

"Right. I'm sorry about that. It's just that Jimin was at the restaurant I work at earlier, and he asked me to have dinner with him. I couldn't really say no since he waited for me until my shift ended."

"You don't have to explain. It's totally fine. Sorry for bothering you at this hour. I'll call you again next time. Good night, Y/N." Taehyung's voice sounded brighter now, unlike earlier.

"Good night, Tae." I hung up and closed my eyes.

TAEHYUNG'S POV

I promised Y/N I'd call her, but I didn't, because I had other plans today. Today's the perfect day, since tomorrow's April Fools and we don't have any schedules. Today's the right time for this.

After eating lunch, I went straight to the bathroom, washed up, put on some nice clothes, and added my beret before heading out. As I marched through the front door, Jimin ran out of his room, calling me.

"Taehyung! You promised we'd go shopping today!" Jimin had his hands on his knees, panting, as if he'd run a kilometer just to get to me.

"Oh? Did I?"

"You rascal!" Jimin smacked the back of my head, realizing I had completely forgotten about our plans. Honestly, I don't usually forget promises.

"Sorry, Jimin. Let's do it some other time. I've got other plans today."

"Why are you so dressed up? Where are you heading?"

"Uh... I'm meeting someone." I scratched the back of my neck, and Jimin gave me that odd stare again, like he knew what I was about to do.

"You're not meeting Reese, are you?" I stayed quiet and then ran out the front door, leaving Jimin dumbfounded.

"Bye, Jimin!!!!" I smiled and waved to him as I ran farther away, hearing his shouts fade into the distance.

I stopped by a flower shop to buy some roses, then drove off to my destination. As I waited for the traffic light to turn green, I received a notification from my Instagram account.

And just when I was about to open her message, the traffic light switched to green, leaving me no time to reply. I quickly put my phone down to focus on driving.

I arrived at the restaurant just in time and immediately took a seat at a vacant table, preparing to order while I waited for the person I was meeting.

The waiter approached, asking for my order. As I placed it, I handed him a small note with some instructions, along with a tip for his service. He smiled and nodded before quickly returning to the kitchen. I checked my phone while waiting for my food, glancing at the time.

The waiter returned, placing my food on the table. I nodded in thanks before digging into my meal.

I glanced at my watch and noticed it was almost 4:30 — nearly time. I felt my nerves start to kick in, and I found myself unconsciously tapping my foot up and down as I waited.

The waiter cleared my table, and as the minutes passed, I checked the clock again. It was already past 4:30, but still no sign of her. Maybe she didn't really want to meet me? I decided to wait a little longer, figuring something must have come up to explain the delay.

I opened our group's Twitter account to check for any updates from ARMYs and uploaded a photo of the burger I'd just eaten, trying to distract myself.

Been craving for burgers lately... as always. 🤪 Have a great day! 💜 #🐯

I smiled as I scrolled through the replies on my post. ARMYs kept saying such lovely things that made my heart feel full. But as I continued to browse, one reply caught my attention.

"Taehyung oppa, are you dating Reese unnie again? I can't wait to see you back together!💜"

I couldn't help but smile at the comment. It had indeed been a while since ARMYs last saw me with Reese. I was tempted to reply, but I don't want to stir up any unnecessary drama, and I definitely don't want Namjoon hyung to scold me.

I was so focused on my phone that I didn't realize nearly an hour had passed. Checking the time, I saw it was already 5:16. I sighed and tucked my phone back into my pocket. Just as I was about to stand up and leave, I heard a familiar voice.
