My heart almost stopped.

That was, without a doubt, the sweetest post Taehyung had ever shared for me. I couldn't help but smile as I pressed the heart button and quote-tweeted his post.

"I didn't know Kim Taehyung could be sweeter than sugar. Thank you for the flowers... and I love you. 💜"

As expected, the likes, retweets, and replies came flooding in almost instantly. Not long after, I received a video call from BTS on Kakao.

"Y/N!!!!!"

I had to quickly remove my earphones as their voices boomed through. They were so excited, but there were only six of them on the call. Where was Taehyung?

"Hey, boys! What's up?"

"Noona! Your post is so sweet! I wanna be your boyfriend too!" Ouch—"hyung!!!"

Jimin nudged Jungkook, and we all burst into laughter as Jungkook whined, but Jimin quickly ran for his life when Jungkook shot him a glare.

"Don't mind them, Y/N," Yoongi said, flashing his sweet gummy smile. "We're so happy the prank went well! Do you and Taehyung have plans today? He left early."

"Uh... I don't think so? I don't remember Taehyung mentioning anything about plans. Maybe he has something else in mind?"

"Ah... I see. Well, if you're not busy later, let's hang out and celebrate! We'd love to have dinner with you... and maybe a slumber party again?" Namjoon added, his voice full of enthusiasm.

How could I say no to Namjoon? Of course, I agreed.

"Sure! I'd love to—oh, hold on." There was a sudden knock at the door. I didn't end the call but quickly walked over to answer it. The boys' faces turned curious, like a bunch of puppies waiting for a treat.

"Taehyung?" I squeaked when I saw his wide, boxy smile that always made my heart flutter. He glanced at the phone in my hand and snatched it from me.

"Ya! Why are you calling her without telling me?"

"She's not yours to begin with, so why do you need permission?" Jin butted in, and we all chuckled.

"Well, she's MY date for today, and I don't want you guys interrupting or disturbing my girl. We need to go." The emphasis on my made my heart skip a beat. Kim Taehyung really knew how to use his words. Damn, Y/N, control yourself. This is just part of the prank. Don't fall in love. Don't fall in love.

Taehyung waved goodbye, and I did too before ending the call. I left him on the couch in the living room as I quickly changed.

I threw on my track pants, a crop top, and sneakers.

"Okay, let's go. But, um, where are we going? You look... a bit too formal? Should I change?"

Taehyung, in his loose slacks and shirt, looked effortlessly stylish. Unfair.

"No. You're perfect. I mean—you look perfect. Don't change, it's fine. I have something better planned for you."

As always, Taehyung opened the car door for me, and we drove off to the mall.

The moment we entered, a sea of eyes turned to us. Whispers started, and I felt the anxiety creeping in—I'm not used to this kind of attention.

Taehyung must've sensed my discomfort, so he intertwined his fingers with mine. Several girls screamed, while others pouted in jealousy. I had to look down, hoping Taehyung wouldn't see the redness spreading across my face, but he chuckled softly and glanced down at me.

"It feels nice to be out like this with you. Now, everyone can see who owns my heart." He looked at me with a soft smile before planting a kiss on my cheek. A chorus of screams erupted from the girls around us.

"I swear, I love seeing you flustered. Should I do this every day?"

"Shut up, Taehyung. Let's just go," I whispered, pulling him away from the growing crowd.

As we strolled through the mall, still hand-in-hand, Taehyung led me to one of his favorite stores—Gucci.

He let go of my hand and wandered excitedly through the aisles, like a child in a candy store, picking out fancy clothes. I glanced at a few items myself, but there was no intention of buying. I just needed something to do while I waited for him.

"$1479?!?!" I gasped, quickly putting the dress back and sinking onto one of the couches in the store.

"Y/N? Come here."

I got up and made my way to Taehyung, just as he shoved three dresses into my arms and dragged me toward the dressing rooms.

"These will look amazing on you. Try them on," he said, excitement dancing in his eyes.

"Taehyung... I—I can't—"

Before I could finish my sentence, Taehyung cut me off with a soft kiss on the lips. My eyes widened in surprise, and I froze, completely caught off guard by his boldness. In the store? In front of everyone?

"I can. So go change. I'll wait here," he said, pulling the curtain closed behind me, chuckling as I stood there, still stunned.

I slipped into the first dress he gave me. It looked great, and it fit perfectly, but the price tag was a little too much for comfort.

I quickly took it off and tried the second one. It was... too colorful. No, not for me.

The last dress fit like a glove and wasn't overwhelming. The tiger design on the back was actually kind of cool. And, compared to the others, this one was the cheapest. I could probably survive on my credit card for this.

"Y/N? You know I should see you in the dresses, right?" Taehyung's voice came from behind the curtain. I giggled, realizing I'd forgotten to show him the first two dresses. But since I was already in the last one, I opened the curtain.

Taehyung's eyes locked with mine, and his face lit up in an expression of pure admiration. He smiled so brightly that I couldn't help but smile back.

"Y/N... you look... wow."

"Stop overreacting, Tae. It's just a dress that costs more than my entire paycheck."

He laughed, his hands finding mine as he pulled me toward the counter to pay.

"Taehyung, here, take my card. I'll pay."

"Do you want me to kiss you again? I told you, I've got this. All you have to do is wear the dress for me, okay?"

I fell silent and nodded, knowing there was no way I could argue with that.

Taehyung may be a little over-the-top sometimes, but there's no denying he's also the sweetest. My heart should stay strong, or else....
