It's been a week since my phone call with Jimin, where he explained that Taehyung had decided to extend the prank for another month. Taehyung and I have been spending more time together than ever before—going on dates, having sleepovers at their dorm. Jimin and Hoseok have also made an effort to take me out on friendly dates, and they've quickly become some of my closest friends in BTS. But don't get me wrong, I adore all of them.

It was another normal day at work, though I couldn't help but notice that we didn't have many customers today. Taehyung had promised to pick me up later, since we were planning to watch a movie together after my shift.

The hours passed, and before I knew it, my shift was almost over. I quickly freshened up and changed into something more comfortable.

At exactly 5 PM, I bid my coworkers goodbye, including Mr. Song, and stepped outside to find Taehyung leaning against his car, a bouquet of flowers in hand. My heart fluttered as I walked toward him, and he greeted me with a warm hug.

"Sorry, have you been waiting long?" I asked, smiling as I took the flowers from Taehyung. The sweet scent of sunflowers filled the air—one of my favorite flowers.

"Not at all. I'm always okay as long as it's you I'm waiting for." Taehyung's words were a familiar kind of sweet, but they still made my cheeks flush with warmth.

He'd been throwing pick-up lines like these ever since we'd started hanging out, and every time, I couldn't help but get flustered.

"Come on, let's go!" he said, opening the door for me. After I climbed in, he jogged around to the driver's seat and we were off.

"You're such a fan of BTS. Even in the car, you're playing their songs?" I teased, glancing at the speakers blaring Mic Drop. Taehyung gave me that signature boxy smile of his.

"I love these guys. They're so talented. I wonder when I'll get to meet them in person." His eyes lit up with excitement, and I couldn't help but chuckle.

The car came to a halt at a red light, and Taehyung turned to face me, his smile turning soft as he leaned over and kissed me on the forehead.

"What was that for?"

"Nothing. I'm just really happy you're with me." Taehyung shrugged, taking his phone out and scrolling through his Instagram while we waited for the light to change. But something changed in his expression as he scrolled, his smile fading into a frown.

He locked his phone and tossed it carelessly into his bag, muttering a quiet "shit" under his breath. My heart skipped a beat. What was going on? What did he see? Whatever it was, it upset him, but he didn't say anything.

The rest of the drive was eerily quiet, the mood shifting in the air. I didn't want to press him, so I stayed silent, unsure of what to do. I couldn't help but feel uneasy about his sudden change in demeanor.

When we arrived at the movie theater, we grabbed our popcorn and soda, and took our seats. Taehyung handed me the popcorn, offering me a reassuring smile. But I could tell something was still bothering him. He'd been unusually quiet ever since he'd gotten upset in the car, but he didn't say a word.

"Wow, the movie was great. I cried so much." I sniffled, dabbing at my eyes with a tissue as we made our way back to the car.

Taehyung nodded, but didn't say anything. We walked back to the parking lot in silence, and I climbed into the car without waiting for him to open the door for me. I couldn't help but feel frustrated. What was going on with him?

He didn't seem to mind as he got into the driver's seat and started the car. The silence in the car was now unbearable. I pulled out my phone to text Jimin. He was my sunshine whenever I needed cheering up, and I needed someone to talk to.

Me:
Jimin?

Jimin:
Y/N? What's up?
Aren't you on a date with Tae?

Me:
Yeah, I just...

Jimin:
Something wrong? Did he do something?

Me:
Nothing. I'm just bored.

Jimin:
This is the first time I've heard you say you're bored when you're with Tae. Something's up, and you're not telling me.

Me:
Taehyung's just... not himself today.

Jimin:
How did that happen?
He was so excited to pick you up from work earlier.

Me:
I'm not sure. I—

"We're here." I had to stop typing, putting my phone down as Taehyung parked the car. We had arrived at the restaurant, and I couldn't continue the conversation.

We got out and made our way to the door, and after we were seated, I turned to him.

"I'm sorry for being quiet earlier. Did I ruin our date?" I asked softly, hoping my words would break through the tension.

"It's okay. I just wish you'd told me what was bothering you, so I could understand. But it's fine if you're not ready to talk about it." Taehyung smiled gently, but it didn't quite reach his eyes. He took my hand, pulling it gently toward him. He laid his head on it, his warm breath soft against my skin. He looked so vulnerable in that moment, and it made me wish I knew what was bothering him.

I continued to stare at his peaceful face, feeling both protective and helpless. After a while, he sat up, looking at me with a tender smile.

"Y/N... I need to tell you something."

"You know you can tell me anything, Tae."

Taehyung sighed, taking my hand again and holding it firmly. His grip felt reassuring, but my nerves started to rise.

"Y/N..." He paused, his gaze lingering on our hands intertwined together. "I think I'm starting to really like you...but....."

His words faltered, and he stopped mid-sentence. He pulled his hand away, and I felt a chill run through me.

"But...?" I whispered, my heart racing.
