A continuation of the part I'd posted earlier today. It's still a gift for heather_weasley, the Evan to my Connor. In the platonic way.

Also I'm sorry, this one's really cheesy.

Evan ran through the streets of his neighborhood in some sort of panic as tears ran down his face. After he'd noticed the leaf that hung in the air refusing to fall, he'd gone inside to find that the clock in the living room had stopped ticking. It seemed to be stuck on 6:59 pm. So, in a panicky state, he'd ran down his street and into the town to find everyone frozen in place, as if time had completely stopped like a 3-dimensional photograph. So then why had he not stopped with it?

He sprinted past the supermarket, almost running into a few cars that stood unmoving on the usually busy street. This wasn't safe, he needed to find someone who could help him, someone who could figure this all out. He probably wasn't the only person who didn't freeze with everyone else.

A little more ways down the street he came to the park in the heart of their town, and with the glow of a red stoplight behind him, he noticed Connor sitting there on a park bench, looking just as confused.

"Evan?" The taller boy sat up at the sight of him standing in the middle of the street. "What the fuck?"

The blonde boy just stood there in shock. "I-I...my mom won't answer my calls, and..." was all he was able to blurt our before completely breaking down in the middle of the frozen traffic.

"Oh, Ev it's okay," Connor hopped over the fence and embraced the boy in a huge hug, and everything else he'd been thinking about before seemed to just float away.

Evan exhaled big, shaky breaths. "None of the clocks are working, I think...I think someone froze time."

The taller boy didn't let go, instead pulled him closer. "It wasn't your fault."

"I know but like...what if it never comes back? What if we're stuck like this?" The blonde shoved his tear-stained face into Connor's chest, letting all of the feelings out. "I'll never see my mom or Jared again and I'll never be able to..."

And then the bottle of pills Connor had left forgotten in his pocket fell with a crash to the pitch black pavement. They both froze.

"Connor," his tear-filled eyes moved down to the floor where the plastic of the bottle glowed under the streetlights. "What is that?" He beat the taller boy in a race to the ground and swiped up the container a split second after Connor's hand hit the empty pavement.

"That's none of your business," the taller boy swiped the bottle and went stuffed it deep in his pocket when his finger slipped and the orange plastic fell to the floor with a crash. Again. "Shit," he muttered to himself when Evan beat him the second time as he bent down to grab it.

"Connor, are these...sleeping pills?" The blonde examined the box, his chestnut eyes widening with worry.

"They're none of your business, thank you very much," the taller boy snatched the bottle back and put it safely in his sweatshirt pocket. "You don't need to worry I was just..."

"Going to kill yourself?" the blond nodded solemnly, crossing his arms. "Yeah I think it got that..."

"Oh come on, like you don't think about it sometimes too?" Connor copied Evan's stance, his eyes icy and foreboding.

The blond frowned. "No, I have other things to think about."

"Like what, trees? Homework? Or..."

"You," Evan whispered, and his face instantly grew beet red.

Connor raised a confused eyebrow. "I'm sorry, what?"

The blonde shook his head, blonde curls flying. He needed to think of something else to say. Anything else.

"...I...I love you."

Connor almost lost his balance, he was so caught off guard. "What the fuck did you just say?"

"Sorry I shouldn't have said that, that was impulsive and I just didn't know what else to say and talking to you I just..."

His ramblings were cut off when he felt a cold pair of lips crash against his. Fireworks went off in his brain, and all of his racing thoughts disappeared as soon as they made contact. He felt like he could be floating, he felt so light. He couldn't get enough of it.

It seemed like an eternity passed before they pulled apart, both breathless and high on adrenaline. Connor took a minute to catch his breath before he was able to say, "I've been in love with you since forever."

Evan grinned. "I've been in love with you for far longer."

They then pulled each other in for a kiss again, but only when they pulled away did they notice that the crisp wind was back and blowing Connor's hair every which way.

And then they heard the beeping of the traffic begin to crescendo until they ran out of the middle of the street. And for the first time in a long time, Connor laughed a hearty genuine laugh, the bottle of pills long forgotten in his pocket.
