FAQs

Q: I am unhappy with my review! What should I do? 

A: First try talking to the reviewer and ask them to justify their scoring/comments. If you are still unhappy, please contact ray_of_sunshine9 and explain why you are not satisfied with the review. If you are still unhappy, submit your story to another reviewer and ask them to write a review. 

Q: My reviewer is taking too long! What should I do? 

A: Try being patient. Believe it or not, the reviewers have lives outside Wattpad! If the review is taking a week longer than promised, contact the reviewer to make sure they are alright. If there is no response for another week, contact ray_of_sunshine9. 

Q: Can I send my reviewer my work so they can just correct it and send it back to me? 

A: If you are looking for someone to do that, you have come to the wrong place. What you are looking for is an editor. Please refer to the Ruby's Editing Store on this profile.

Q: A reviewer from another community gave me a different score. What does this mean? 

A: Reviews, while we mostly like to keep them objective, end up varying from person to person. Some people will be more pickier than others due to experience and taste. Please understand that not all reviewers will give the same story a similar score. 

Q: Is one reviewer better than another reviewer? Why is one reviewer more popular than the other? 

A: Each reviewer has their own taste. We recommend looking through the reviews to see which reviewing style you like the best. And usually, one reviewer is more popular because they've been here longer or they have a broader range of genres that they can review.

Q: What happens if I don't complete payment? 

A: The reviewer will write the review, but we will not publish it until payment has been completed. It's simply our way of ensuring the reviewer hasn't been cheated out of payment. 

Q: I want my review deleted - it's too harsh! Can you please delete it? 

A: You MUST come up with a valid reason for this. For example, perhaps the review itself was incredibly rude and inconsiderate. However, if you want it deleted simply because you think less people will read your story based on it, please reconsider. Usually, the reader of the review is the author themselves. Also, usually, the review comes up with valuable feedback and tips for you and other authors. Please don't ask us to delete it - it's actually quite disrespectful, considering how much time and effort goes into each review.

Q: I don't know which reviewer to request! Help!

A: This is understandable. There are 12 of us, after all. 

First of all, check who is and isn't on hiatus. Do not request a reviewer who is on hiatus. 

Then, check out the waiting list. If one reviewer has eight books to review, while another has none, maybe you should try asking the one with no books to review. That way, you can get your review as soon as possible. That being said, if you desperately want the reviewer with eight books and they are still open to requests, then you may still request them. 

Another tip is to look at what each reviewer can and can't review. Some won't review fantasy, and others will not read stories containing violence. Make sure your story suits the reviewer you plan on requesting. You will also find feedback from previous clients in the comments on the chapter about the reviewer. For example, if you want information about me, then go to the chapter titled, 'Head Reviewer: Sunshine', and a few authors have written feedback about my reviews for their stories. 

And, finally, have a look at some of the reviews! Each review title is 'Review by [Reviewer's Name]' so that it is easy for you to navigate your way through the reviews and see who wrote what. If you like the way one reviewer reviews in particular, ask for them.
