"There you go, my love." I run the comb through the dark locks that rest on Maria's head.

She doesn't have a full head of hair yet, so there's never much I can do with it. But still, I try to style it as often as possible. The one I usually do is tying it in a few rubber bands then tying them off together to form a pattern. But she hates it, which makes it extremely difficult.

"She doesn't have too much hair yet." I glance at David while he sits beside me on the bed, watching me handle Maria's hair.

"She's going to have a lot of hair." He grins widely and takes her from her resting spot, holing her in the air. She lets out a small giggle. It's such a pleasant sound, we haven't been able to hear it much since she's so young still. But I cherish every single moment I can. "Just like her mommy." I smile as he rests her on his chest and she wiggles a toy that's gripped tightly in her hand. "She's going to get all of her looks and be the most beautiful girl in the world." He presses his lips to her forehead and it warms my heart to see my two favorite people in the world so happy.

David usually never talks about Alexandria, so any time he does I have to pay very close attention. He seems to be happy right now, usually the subject is bad and he gets angry. "I wish you could have met her, Lay." He opens the arm that isn't holding Maria and I crawl over to the two, laying my head on David's bicep and snuggling into his side. "You would have liked her." He assures me.

"If she was still here I never would have met you." I reply.

"That's not exactly true. We just would have met under different circumstances." He lifts an eyebrow at me.

"But we couldn't have been together." He gnaws on his lip as he thinks deeply for a moment.

"I think we're supposed to be together. I really think that you're the one I'm supposed to be with." He runs his hands through my hair. "You two are so alike. I feel like I have a second chance." I sit up and cross my legs beside David.

"David-" I begin and cross my arms, but he cuts me off and sets a firm grip on my leg.

"That's not the only reason I want you." He replies quickly. "Layla, you're perfect. In every way possible. You're Layla, not Alexandria. And now you're the mother of my daughter." I can't fight the smile from spreading across my face and I lift an eyebrow.

"Really?" He nods and opens his arm again, which I lay on gladly.

David only wanting me because of Alexandria has always been a fear of mine. We're not twins but we're pretty alike. I could never help but wonder what happens when he hates the reminder of Alexandria? So it's good that he knows how I feel. I won't only be with him because he misses her.

"Yes." He kisses my forehead and I nod.

The door swings open, startling me slightly and Scotty, josh, and Trisha and Jason enter the room. Josh does a weird dance as he spins quickly, a beer in his hand. "There's something called privacy." David lifts an eyebrow.

"There's also something called closing your door all the way, asshat." Josh retorts quickly.

I stifle a laugh and shake my head. "Drinking before a show? Doesn't sound like such a good idea." I point out the bottle and he waves me off.

"Makes me more friendly. And more fun." He winks. "I'm a lot of ways. I can show you if you want." Josh grins.

"Hey!" David exclaims and sits up from beside m, points a finger at josh with the arm that doesn't hold Maria tightly. "Don't you have a pregnant wife at home?"

"You're disgusting, David! Get your mind out of the gutter, you pervert." He hisses and I roll my eyes at how stupid the both of them sound.

"Woah, who have you guys the smallest room in the building?" Scotty questions. "Me and kristen have three extra beds." He laughs.

"Our room is massive." Jason says in a matter of factly tone.

"Well, my room is pretty big too, I'm not going to lie." Josh takes a break from living in his own tipsy dream land to interject for a moment.

"Management, I guess." David mumbles slightly angry. Layla doesn't want a bigger room, which makes no sense at all." I'm about to reply when Alex enters the room, a cute blonde following him quickly.

"Who's this?" I question and sit up from my place in David's arms.

"Alex, whos your friend?" Jason lifts an eyebrow.

"You don't get to look at her!" Alex hisses.

He's still upset with me about the whole trying to get at me weeks ago thing, and honestly he gets tiring. Most of the time we avoid each other, but I still want to like be his friend.

"Don't be rude." Her soft voice fills the room and we're all left staring at her as she shoves him gently, making her way to me and holding her hand out. "I'm Emily, Alex is my boyfriend. I've heard a lot about you lot." She smiles at us.

"I wish we could say the same. Alex here isn't so open." Scotty flips Alex off quickly and I roll my eyes at the childish behavior. They begin wrestling on the small part of the floor that was clear and I watch in amusement.

"You boys are animals." Trisha says in disgust.

"I'm Layla." I shake her hand momentarily.

"I know." She smiles widely. "You just about all everyone on Instagram is talking about. And I've heard a lot about you from Alex, he says you two are a match made in heaven." I glance at Alex with a lifted eyebrow and he offers me a look I can't pin down.

"Has he, now?" I question.

"Alex said that?" Trisha let's out a loud laugh. "I don't believe it for a second."

"Yep!" She grins. "And this must be your daughter." She motions to Maria who now lays on the bed and wiggles the same toy in her hand.

"That would be the one and only." I chuckle. She silently asks if she can hold her and I nod with a smile.

"That's our angel." David grins and pulls me to his side, kissing my cheek.

"She sure is gorgeous." She places her back in my arms and I nod in agreement.

Every time I look at Maria it's like the first time. I didn't appreciate her like I should have right away and i hate myself for it. Marie is such a special baby sometimes I catch myself thinking she's actually mine. I suppose that's the right mindset though.
