With my hand covering my mouth in shock, I stared at the television in horror. I turned back to look at Taehyung with surprised, not shocked, expression. Once I saw that he was intently watching the same content as me, I turned back towards the large television.
"Yes, sadly, the beloved Jeon Yein has passed," stated a woman with tears brimming the corners of her eyes as she stood in front of a humongous crowd with a microphone placed on her chin which was held by her trembling hand, "The cause of death is unknown, but authorities are currently trying to identify it,"
"May she forever rest in the warm palms of Luna," She used her other hand to wipe the tear that strayed from her brown eyes, "back to you, Suzy,"
The screen suddenly transferred from the woman to another who seemed as devastated as the one before, "Thank you, Ailee,"
She turned to the man who was beside her, slightly more stable and sophisticated but there was still a trace of inner sadness, "Many worldwide are mourning the loss of the wondrous Yein, the tangible source of warmth and comfort in the world, and we will forever remember her gracious acts for all eternity,"
I turned off the television with the chilling remote, trying to soak in all the information that was just given, "Wow, I cant believe she's gone,"
Of course, I never personally knew her. Only the most prestigious were able to meet such a devine woman, besides those whom she aided (the unfortunate). But everyone in the world, besides those cursed atheists, loved Jeon Yein. There was this intangible connection with her, like how you would feel with an idol or celebrity of some sort. Now that she's gone, there was a lingering but shallow emptiness within me.
"Well, everyone dies, Hyung," whispered Taehyung as he merged into the pillow that supported his backside, "even the most godly ones,"
I nodded, "Duh, I know that, it just feels so surreal right now,"
He hummed in response and I continued to face the black screen.
"I never really understood why she was so loved," muttered Taehyung and I instantly turned to face him with a look of disbelief to see his closed, resting eyes, "she's human, just like the rest of us."
I furrowed my eyebrows, "She is the incarnation of Luna herself, people would kill for her,"
His eyes opened and looked at me with a lazy glance, "She's too perfect to be true, it was all a façade and I know it,"
"Do you have proof?" I asked sassily, my attitude showing through.
"I just see it how it is, and if you don't, that's okay, hyung," he closed his eyes again and sighed.
I scoffed at his arrogance, rolling my eyes in the process. He's never been such a smart aleck before and the amount of backtalk is not welcomed in this Luna household.
I sunk into the chair, closing my eyes to rest but once again, my sleep was disrupted by a ringing of a phone. With my eyes closed, I reached for my phone which was in my pocket and I brought it to my ear, "Hello?"
A quiet, familiar voice responded, "..hyung..?"
My eyebrows furrowed but I continued to rest my eyes, "Chimmy? Where are you calling me from?"
