"Why are you so tense anyways?"
I looked up from rim of the plastic cup of the water Jin had given me, saying that he was doing it for my sake. The water so I don't have an extreme hangover in the morning and the plastic cup so it would be literally impossible for me to break anything else. My face cringed back in confusion, "Tense? What? I'm not tense, what are you talking about?"
He smiled faintly, "Dude, you're so tense, it's hilarious,"
I shook my head, the only thing in my mind is how calm I am, "Yo, I'm not tense,"
"Hyung, not yo," he corrected.
I went quiet for a second, knowing that I was at least a whole century older than him but this body is around twenty four years old since that's the age I was when I was injected with the youth serum. I didn't want to argue with him either so I complied, a small 'hyung' leaving my lips. He smiled in satisfaction, my mannerisms making him somewhat glow.
"But this hyung knows that you're tense," he put a hand on his chest and smiled so hard that his eyes formed a rainbow shape.
I raised an eyebrow, "Why is it that you make me call you Hyung but nobody else?"
He pointed a finger at me, "Don't change the subject," his arm fell to his side, "but it's because it just seems like you've never called anyone Hyung before, so I like to tease you,"
"I've called—"
I flipped through the large repertoire that I referred to as my mind and couldn't recall not one time in which I called someone 'hyung'. I stayed quiet once I realized my lacking in manners since I've never really had to use them since my father never commented on things like that, just my intellect.
"But just tell me, isn't that what bartenders are for?" He leaned over the bar, his arms supporting his weight as he peered into my eyes with a curious smile, "Right?"
I sighed in defeat, the glimmering look in his eyes breaking down my wall, "Okay but not because you asked. Only because you're a bartender,"
He chuckled at the last part and nodded frantically, his rapt attention being focused on me and only me.
"It's Taehyung, he's gone,"
His eyebrows furrowed, "The fuck? No he's not, he's at the hospital,"
I shook my head and sighed, "He's gone, Jin, he's not there,"
It became quiet and he had a contemplative look on his face, "He was there just yesterday, the tapeworm can't even fucking walk,"
I nodded, "I know, that's why we're assuming that he had some help,"
"We?" He inquired with a raised brow.
I nodded and fiddled with my thumbs, "The TA,"
He cringed back, "The type association?"
I nodded and he looked confused for a second before bending down to grab himself a beer from the refrigerator. He fluently popped off the top and tilted the bottom up, taking a large, long gulp. Once he finished, he lightly set he bottle on the counter, "Continue,"
I pretended that he didn't just do that and followed his commands, "He is the only AB hybrid in the entire world, and if we lose him..." I trailed off, my thoughts taking me to dark, dark places.
"AB? I forgot what that means, you told me something about it very briefly a few weeks ago," he crossed his arms and his eyebrows were knitted in a confused line, thinking hard about some of the most confidential information in the whole world that only a respected few know the deepest depths of.
"AB, as in alpha beta. He's a hybrid, a mix between the two," I explained, not having a clue as to why my words were spilling from my mouth so easily. Especially when I've never actually told anybody this would wasn't apart of the type association (TA) or members of the government.
Jin looked astonished, something that seemed prevalent whenever we had a conversation of some sort.
"That isn't possible, it can't be,"
"But it is. Remember that fight between Jeon Jungkook and Taehyung at this very bar that happened a few months ago?"
He paused for a moment or two before nodded, trying to remember said bar-fight.
"Taehyung was able to compete against Jungkook since he was protecting something that was his,"
"Jimin," Jin replied, finishing my sentence for me, but after that name left his lips, a sad aura was emitted from his pheromones. He seemed to slowly recollect himself so I didn't ask, not wanting to bring any bad memories to him, "Well, if it is possible, then how?"
"Taehyung's blood molecules are perfectly split in half between alpha and beta, meaning that he has the characteristics of both and all of their little idiosyncrasies, but he was claimed a beta by the TA since the beta gene was more physically protrusive,"
Jin shook his head and looked down in thought, "Taehyung can't just magically become an AB hybrid like that, he comes from a prestigious line of alphas! Or wait.. maybe he was a mutation?"
I sighed while massaging my forehead to try and rid of the headache that was permanently there until all of this mess is over, "No, you're right. Around when Taehyung was still in his mother's stomach, I—" I paused.
Jin doesn't know about the youth serum. Can I tell him? What would he think?
"You what?" Asked Jin who looked completely immersed in my story, his eyebrows furrowed in concentration.
No. I can't trust him. Not that much at least. I can't trust anybody that much. Nobody but myself.
"My father made a deal with Taehyung's mother that in exchange for the right to experiment on Taehyung, he'll give her the one thing that she ever wanted,"
"And what is that, Namjoon?"
The youth serum.
"That's confidential,"
