I walked down the hall with my books to my chest as I squeezed through the crowd. Finally making it to my locker I opened it stuffing my things inside. I checked my phone before groaning. Still no word from Stefan. I slammed my locker shut and then made my way out to my car. I drove to the boarding house and parked before going and knocking on the door. The door opened and Stefan's brooding face stared back st me."Finally!" I said and he sighed moving so I could come in. "Last night. I found something and I think I know what it and I am." I told him and he made a confused face before nodding. "The other night I stayed at Bonnie's and her grams just freaked out after she touched my hand. I'm apparently a witch." I told him and Stefan went to talk when I heard, "that explains you pushing me away so harshly." Damn said walking towards us. Vicky in tow.
"Now what'd you find?" Stefan asked and I held up the pocket watch. "Snagged it when Damn killed Logan Fell." I said and held it tightly as Damn tried to take it from me. "Why do you need it if it detects vampires." I teased as I jerked my arm away from him. "It could come in handy. I'm keeping it." I snapped and slid it back into my pocket.
———I sat with Bonnie on the couch in her house, as we asked her questions. "Was our family burned in the witch trials?" Bonnie asked. "No, the girls that were persecuted in Salem were entirely innocent. You have to have more than ignorance to trap a real witch." I smiled to myself as Grams said that. "How did you end up in Mystic Falls?" I asked next. "Our family fled Salem in 1692 and relocated here. Our ancestors lived in secrecy for over a hundred years. It's important that we still do." I made a face as Bonnie then said, "Grams, everybody knows you're a witch."
"They also know it's absurd, can't be true. I'm just a kooky lady that teaches occult at the university. No ones really believes. They just poke fun. And let 'em. Don't let 'em know the truth." Grams answered back and I nodded then asked, "Where's the witchcraft? I mean, you've been talking history for 2 days. I wanna get to the fun part." Bonnie agreed and Grams sighed, "It's not meant to be fun. It's real and it's serious, and you must understand it before you practice it. Aren't you late for school?"
-Later in the day when the sun went down, the Halloween carnival went on. "Cider for the ladies. It's a Lockwood special." Tyler said passing around cups for Bonnie, Caroline, and I. "No way. Last year I was hung over until Thanksgiving." Bonnie declinded making me laugh. "Lightweight. I am going to drink until someone is hot enough to make out with." Caroline teased and we clinked cups downing the liquid. "Sounds like a plan." Tyler told us drinking his cup.
About five cups down, I held onto a solo cup, as I danced to the music. Stefan showed up next to me and leaned over whispering, "Stay away from Vicki. If she shows up scream and I'll hear you." I nodded and he looked both ways before leaving. I chugged my drink as I began to dance again.
----
Tyler tucked me into bed and fell in bed next to me. "Ty.." I mumbled and he turned to me. "Thank you for being my brother." I whispered making him chuckle. "You're welcome drunk ass. Get some sleep." he told me and kissed my head before leaving me.
