History Class has become my favorite when Alaric took the job.
"Okay, this week we're gonna set outside our regular curriculum for a lesson in local history as we approach Founders' Day. Apparently the community leaders feels it's more important than World War 2 but hey what do I know?" Bonnie interrupts him and enters the classroom.
"Sorry I'm late." Bonnie apologized and I smiled at her.

Well, it looks like we will be at full occupancy today. Welcome home, Bonnie." Bonnie sits down and smiles at Elena but when she looks at Stefan her smile fades and. Stefan smiles at her but she tries not to look and him and turns her head. Elena and Stefan don't understand, they look at each other. Elena looked at me and I shrugged.

I smirked as I read the article about the Founders Court. "So if they just announced it today, how'd you know weeks ago?" Noah asked smirking. "My moms basically First Lady babe, I knew I was on it a month ago." I said smiling as I turned and climbed into my bed next to him.

I sat in a chair as mom and two other women from the judge panel interviewed me. " As you know Aaliyah, This year's queen will have the special honor of taking stage at the hundred and fiftieth Founders' Day Gala. Before we crown our winner, we'd like to get to know a bit more about each of you." She said and winked.

"I'm head cheerleader and captain of the Mystic Fall Timber Wolves cheerleaders. I volunteer at the animal shelters all around the radius of Mystic Falls. I implemented this year's go green campaign at school with Caroline Forbes. I worked for the recycling program and was in charge of this year's police raffle. I was also a big part in helping organize and be part of the bachelor auction. When I can I help my mother around the house and her events. She trusts my eye in design and coordination." I explained about myself and they all smiled and nodded down. The big smile never left my mothers face.

Since I had cheer practice mom agreed to teach Noah and I the dance at home.
"Honor your partner. Stay focus, right hand around. Flirt with your eyes Left hand around." Mom said and we did the motions, "This is ridiculous." I mumbled. "Both hands."

"You're only saying that because you don't know how to do it." Noah teases. "Sorry. Only one of us was around when the dance was invented." Noah chuckled, "Ouch!"

"There's no touching during this part. It's about the simple intimacy of the near touch." mom reminded us. "If you ask me, the 'near touch' is overrated." Noah told me, I agreed.

I stood in my room in the Founders Hall as I stared at myself in my dress.

Strands of my hair fell around my face, as a knock came at my door. "Come in." I said and Mom popped her head in. "Oh baby you look amazing!" She gushed and came in placing her hands on my arms. "The locket just goes. Where did you find it!" She asked and I blushed.

"Noah got it for me actually." I said and she smiled at me. "Are you nervous?" She asked and I chuckled. "I'm only nervous because of Noah. I really like him Mama." I said and she nodded. "He likes you too baby. I can see it in his eyes." Mom confided in me and I nodded. "No matter what happens today.. I'm so proud of you." She told me as we stared at each other in the mirror.

We all got ready at the top of the stairs as mom started the line up introductions.

"Miss Aaliyah Lockwood, escorted by Noah Haskins." Dad announced as I walked down the stairs. Noah met me at the bottom as people clapped. Noah and I linked hands as we walked out to the yard.

Once everyone was out here we stood in our spots to dance. We smiled at each other, and before we started Noah mouthed, 'You got this' making me nod slightly.

The music stopped and we smiled at each other. He winked at me and I blushed slightly.

"Before I crown the winner, I'd like to offer a personal thank you to all of these young ladies for their efforts to better our community." Dad said and everyone applauded.

"So, without further a due it is my honor to announce our very own Miss Mystic Falls, Miss... Aaliyah Lockwood." My mouth fell open and Noah twirled me making me laugh. Elena and Caroline both hugged me as I laughed. "Congratulations!" They both called out even though I know Caroline was upset. Dad put the sash on me as everyone cheered.

I held a glass in my hand as the music played. Tyler came over and smirked, "Does this mean I have to call you princess?" He asked and I scoffed. "Only if you're my fool." I said and hugged him as we laughed. "You did good sis." He said and I smiled. Pulling back Noah walked over, "TY! This is Noah Haskins, my boyfriend." I said and they shook hands. "We're going to have a talk." Tyler said and I scoffed as he lead Noah away.

I shrugged and downed my drink before getting another. I downed that one before my father spotted me. He walked over and hugged me tightly. "I'm so proud of you." He whispered and I just smiled warmly.
