a hard day's night

Cassandra Scott seems to know what she had going for her, all until her brother died from a brain aneurysm. She was all alone, her parents sad that the golden boy had died and her feeling all alone without her best friend. So, that's when this journey started, all those years of premed and med school and she was here, finally. In a hospital, on her way to becoming a surgeon to save people like her brother and grandpa pappy (whose name was actually pappy & had a serious painkiller addiction). She had no mindset of where she was going, all she had was the drive to save lives that's all she wants and needs for her job. Of course, she has a long way to go.

So, hearing the Chief of Surgery talk to her about her future life as a life saver. Looking around at her coworkers, she was doing this for him. She was full of hope of what her future life would be. She's ready for what the Chief says well be the best and worst years of their life.

Fitting her way into the scrubs she couldn't believe it. The light blue scrubs fit magically and that white lab coat made her feel like a superhero, the cold touch of the stethoscope and the sound of people. To say she wasn't excited would be a major, major understatement. She was far from the edge of her seat, she was already on the floor just waiting to see, be, hear surgery. It's a dream that is now a reality.

Assignments to your resident are being called out. She has Bailey, the Nazi, she searched her up. She was a killer surgeon for just her residency. To be referred to as the Nazi, she means business. Everyone was talking with the interns they are sharing a resident with, but she couldn't find anyone.

"O'Malley, Yang, Grey, Stevens, Scott." She hears called. Her people. She's not optimistic, she just wants to make a good first impression. She walked out of the locker room where she hears,

"I thought the Nazi would be a guy." Heard from a guy with brown shaggy hair.

"I thought the Nazi would be...the Nazi." A dirty blonde hair girl says.

"Maybe it's professional jealousy," a light blonde girl appeared, "maybe she's brilliant and they call her the Nazi because they're jealous. Maybe she's nice." Cassie snorts softly at the girl's words.

"Let me guess, you're the model." A black-haired women observed.

The model charged up to the Nazi and introduced herself, "Hi, I'm Isobel Stevens, but everyone calls me Izzie." Holding out her hand. The Nazi ignores and begins listing her Five Rules. The reached the helipad (which was very cool by the way) where they approached a new patient, Katie Bryce. She isn't sure what she should do. Bailey assigned her to Katie Bryce, but she's not sure what to do with the girl. She runs labs and they're all clear, so she truly has no idea what to do now, luckily it's lunch time.

Cassie finds a seat at a table with the people she just learned the names of. The (cute, but like your cat, not that he's a cat) brown-haired guy is George O'Malley, the (truthful) dirty blonde is Meredith Grey, the (energetic) model is Izzie Stevens, and the (very bitter) black-haired girl is Cristina Yang.

"Okay, so I'm not to sure what to do. I told Bailey how I ran all the labs and they came out clear, but I am not sure what to do next." She rants. They stare at her for about two seconds before being interrupted by Dr. Burke who announces that George will be performing an appy. She just rolls her eyes. She wanted it but it's also her first day and she feels bond to fail.

While they watch George perform the surgery it's every intern in the gallery and she bets $50 that Burke is forced to finish the surgery. By the end, she gets $50. "007." She hears one of the interns near the doorway comment.

The group of interns later finds themselves taking peace near an empty corridor with empty cots. "007, they're calling me 007, aren't they?" George asked.

"Don't get so down on yourself. So, what you messed it up?" She encouraged him.

"And nearly killed someone." He replies ramming the wheelchair he was sitting in against the wall.

"It was eventually going to happen sometime." She told him. "Soon rather then later."

"Thank you for that willful advice. I feel so much better about myself."

So, after some clueless hours, Cassie joined the rest of the interns in a conference room. She kept tapping her foot onto the ground to keep her awake. Sleep is all she could think about, but she kept herself awake till this dreaded 48-hour shift was up.

"What are you doing?" Meredith asked Cristina who was currently suturing a banana.

"I'm suturing a banana with the vain hope it will wake up my brain." She answered causing George to giggle. "What are you smiling at 007?" He stopped laughing and everyone sort of stared, half of them were too tired to open their eyes. "I'm sorry, I get mean when I'm tired."

"You know what, I don't care," George answered. "I comforted a family and I got to hang out in the OR today. All is well."

"Hey, do you have another banana?" Cassie asked. She's was always looking for something to either keep her awake or improve her skill, in this case, both.

"Does anybody know why we're here?" Cristina asked.

As if on cue Dr. Shepherd walked in, "Well, good morning." He greeted. Everyone mumbled a good morning back. "I'm gonna do something rare for a surgeon, I'm gonna asked interns for help." He told everyone as he walked around the room. He stopped and explained, "I've got this kid, Katie Bryce. Right now, she's a mystery. She doesn't respond to our meds. Laps are clean, scans are pure, but she's having seizures, grand mal seizures with no visible cause." As he explained the case, Cassie dozed off for a few seconds before snapping awake to hear, "Whoever finds the answer rides with me. Katie needs surgery. You get to do what no interns get to do, scrub in to assist on an advanced procedure."

Cassie had a good feeling. She was on the case from the start, she knows Katie, she's ready. She is ready to get onto this surgery. So, she countless studying to find anything in her chart, anything at all possible. She sees Cristina storm pass.

"Cristina! Do you know anything about Katie?" She asked chasing after Cristina for an update.

"Yeah, Meredith decided to be a shark, a shark!" She yelled back.

"What?" She asked confused.

"She got it, okay. Friggin' fall burst an aneurysm and she got it." Cristina whispered harshly before storming off.

Well, okay.

She walked out of Seattle Grace. She made it, survived her first shift. She had made it through. She found her people.
