love/addiction

"No. No, no, no, no, George, you didn't?" Cassie repeated as she stopped pacing back and forth. She looked over at George when he didn't reply to her. "Oh my god, you did! You did, you did, you did! Why? Why would you leave your wife for Izzie of all people?" She whisper shouted.

George shushed her even though she was talking loudly anyway, "Can you be quiet?" She rolled her eyes. "I haven't exactly told Callie yet."

Cassie continued her harsh whispering, "Then why did you tell me?" She questioned, "I'm going to be so nervous around her, and what if I spit it out or something?"

"You won't spit it out." George stood up from the chair he was sitting in. He grabbed her shoulders, "I told you because you're my best friend and I don't know who else to tell."

The blonde began to pace again, "Well, maybe you could tell Callie. And-and wasn't Izzie your best friend too. Oh my god, are you in love with me too?"

"No, no. Cas, just calm down!"

As he spoke both of their pagers went off, "We will continue this later!" Her harsh whispering returning as the two walked in silence down to the ER and into the ambulance bay.

Only to turn back around when the Chief ordered Cassie and Cristina into an OR with him and Shepherd. Her interns stopped her with instructions, "Oh, uh," she quickly ran through names in her mind, "Haley and, uh, Noah, come with me and uh, Samantha and Oscar go down into the clinic."

She turned on her heels moving back into the ER, "What about me?" Cassie's eyes widened at the unknown voice. Crap! The name not appearing in her head. She combed through any name she knew and she couldn't place one with the small brunette girl in front of her.

"You can, uh, join me too." She invited the girl. The three interns trailed behind her along with Cristina's interns. "Do you know any of your intern's names?"

Cristina's head turned in a questioning way, "I call my interns by numbers, you think I know any of their names?"

Her eyebrows furrowed, "Isn't one of your interns Meredith's sister?" The two began to suit up for surgery.

"3?"

Cassie entered the clinic, searching the room for her friends. Her eyes finding Meredith stitching up the back of Alex's head. "Meth lab, crazy right?" They nodded, obviously already talking about the subject enough since it was all anyone talked about. Alex and Meredith now discussing Cristina's pacing in a circle over Mama Burke.

Though she found it hard to keep her attention on the two talking because of "3" aka Meredith's sister staring at them. She leaned over to the two, "I feel like her eyes are burning a hole through my head." Cassie touched her forehead cautiously, "All of it's still there, but she's still looking at us."

Meredith then muttered to Cristina, "She's hovering again."

The stern resident stopping her patient to be a drill sergeant to her intern, "If you're done with the charts, go fold something, like, you know, sheets." Then, resuming her pacing.

Her two interns scurried off in fear, Alex's eyes clearly following the sister. "What are you lookin' at? Don't look at her."

"Your sister. She's hot." Alex commented. Cassie rolling her eyes as always at the lewd man.

Meredith leaning down to his ear, "I'm an only child."

Cassie sighed, "Not anymore."

Now Meredith's turn to roll her eyes, "Don't talk to me about Lexie." Alex pager went off as he left the clinic. Cristina complaining about Mama Burke, grabbing Meredith's attention.

"So, that's her name." The blonde nodded in an understanding fashion. The blonde said a quick goodbye to the Siamese twins, not that they were listening because they were too busy talking about the whole Mama Burke situation.

After attempting to say goodbye twice, she turned on her heels and made her way out of the Denny Duquette Memorial Clinic. The half-sister appearing back with folded sheets, figuring she'd help Meredith out a bit, she stopped the intern. "Oh, uh, put those sheets down and Cristina wants you do go get more thermometers." The brunette nodded rushing off as a guilty feeling washed over her.

The feeling didn't last since her two interns...oh, Oscar and Samantha appearing waiting for direction, "Anything you'd like us to do, Dr. Scott?" Oscar peered up with puppy dog eyes awaiting some form of approval.

Her eyes bulged out of her head at the jump scare the two had given her, "Uh...no. Just continue in here. You're, uh, doing a great job!" She spun back around relaxing her big, bright, fake smile and returning to the look of confusion. Was she ever like that?

"I think you're the stupidest person I know. Even more stupid than meth dealer or users or, I don't know meth in general!" Cassie yelled at George as the news washed over her.

George then defended himself, "I'm protecting her, both of them."

"Don't you hear how crazy you sound?!" She shouted at him as she sat down across from him. "How are you protecting her if you're cheating on her?" The blonde stared straight into George's eyes, him not making eye contact with her. "You know this is wrong. So, why are you doing it?"

George looked down at the ground, lost in his thoughts. "Just tell her," Cassie told him. "You're doing more harm than good to both of them by lying to them."

He finally made eye contact with her, "Izzie told me not to tell her."

"Well, Izzie is either lying to you or she's an idiot." She bluntly informed him, she looked down at the floor, "Maybe both." She murmured to herself. "But no matter what, Callie deserves to know," Cassie rose from her chair, grabbing her bag preparing to exit, "and if you don't tell her, you're not who I thought you were. So tell her, because I don't want you to be a bad person. I don't want you to be Alex."

The seriousness in the room dissolving into laughter as Cassie made her way out.
