enough is enough (no more tears)
Cassie began her day at a normal pace before morning where it was trauma central. She, however, got no traumas, unlike everyone else. She stood next to Dr. Bailey waiting for an assignment when some guy said, "We got one more for you." Cassie said a little thank you in her head because she wasn't stuck doing sutures all day and would actually end up in the OR.
Cassie followed Dr. Bailey to grab that chart, "What is it?" Dr. Bailey asked him.
"That guy." He answered pointing to a blonde curled haired guy.
"He was in the accident?" Cassie asked hoping for some internal injuries. She just realized how messed up that sounded, but it was the truth. She wanted surgeries.
"No, bowel obstruction. He's not telling us what he ingested, but the films look like he's packing." He explained. Bowel obstruction. They weren't the worst, they still meant surgery, but...bowel obstruction.
Cassie looked over Dr. Bailey to look at the chart and the films. "Can't people figure out a better way to move drugs?" Dr. Bailey complained to Cassie. "Let's go check out this bowel obstruction." She directed to Cassie as they walked towards the patient.
After introducing themselves to Mr. Hubble, Cassie took him up for an abdominal CT. While waiting for the elevator, she explained to him, "You know, Mr. Hubble, you might make things a little easier on yourself if you would just tell us what you've ingested. We'll know anyway once we see your films."
"You have the most beautiful features." Mr. Hubble said trying to smooch her. She rolls her eyes so hard that they might get stuck in the back of her head. "They're delicate. Almost porcelain."
Cassie then made it clear, "Mr. Hubble, whatever you've ingested could kill you. Are you sure you don't want to tell me what's got you blocked up inside?"
"It might offend you." He told her. Now things become making less and less sense to her with this "it might offend you" talk.
"Is it drugs?" She asks.
"It's not drugs." He answers.
"Mr. Hubble..." It was so obviously drugs.
"I promise it's not drugs." Mr. Hubble stated.
"Well, good, I'm glad it's not drugs." She bluffed because it so obviously was drugs.
Radiology reconfirmed this to her. "It's drugs."
"I know it." She rolled her eyes again. "God, why do people do this?" Cassie questions.
"Looks like at least ten balloons in his bowel. My guess: cocaine." She rolled her eyes again and thanked the technician before running off to find Dr. Bailey.
Once Cassie spotted Dr. Bailey in a room with Alex and Cristina she walked towards to tell her. Before she could though she saw the films they were looking at. "Damn. What happened to that one?" She pointed to Cristina's patient's films.
