save me
"8 hours, 16 ounces of chocolate, and 32 cupcakes, and they still don't taste right," Izzie complained to Cassie and George as the sat in the kitchen. It was one of those few days where she wasn't leaving at the crack of dawn before anybody else. She figured she runs into Dr. Shepherd on the way out with the way he and Meredith are doing it. Plus, Izzie is baking cupcakes. Cupcakes are delicious, the most delicious thing ever in Cassie's mind.
"No, these are good." George muffled with the cupcake in his mouth. "Martha Stewart would be proud."
"Yeah, look where it got her," Izzie told them. Though she hated Izzie's agony and complaining over the recipe, Cassie was thankful. One reason only: the cupcakes. Cassie loved cupcakes too much. 32 cupcakes spilled between her and George because Meredith was busy eating "something" else.
"Izzie, please never stop making cupcakes," Cassie begged her blonde companion. Cassie wanted to be drowned in cupcakes. The way Izzie was making them, it looks like she might be.
"There's something missing--some specific ingredient." Izzie tried to grasp what it was. "Why can't I remember?"
"Look, just call her. Call your mother and ask." George told Izzie. Cassie hoped she wanted. Izzie not knowing the special ingredient=more cupcakes.
"Shut up, George!" Cassie told the boy. "Take your time, please make more cupcakes in the process. Please, please, please, please!" The girl cheered.
George reached over, trying taking the cupcake out of her hand, "Maybe you shouldn't have anymore." She slapped his hand away for it got a chance to take her precious cupcake baby away.
"I don't want to call my mother," Izzie concluded. Walking over to the counter to try and whip up a new batch.
"Good call, Izzie." Cassie complimented toasting her glass of milk towards Izzie, before taking a sip. The room fell silent as Cassie devoured another cupcake, George downed a glass of milk and Izzie contemplated the missing ingredient. Noise filled the room once more as Dr. Shepherd and Meredith joined them in the kitchen greeting a good morning.
"Hey, you guys want a cupcake? Izzie made them." George offered to hold one up.
Before a second even pass, Cassie responded with, "Don't you dare George O'Malley those cupcakes or for me. You're lucky I let you have on." Cupcake crumbs fell from her mouth as she spoke. George still had the tray of cupcakes out with Dr. Shepherd making a disgusted face walking away from them. "Don't tell me you don't like cupcakes, Dr. Shepherd because I will kill you. I know you're my superior and I can't really say that to you, but trust me." She whispered, "I will."
"I like cupcakes, just not for breakfast." He answered walking towards the cabinet to grab cereal, continuing some debate with Meredith about sleeping in her bed every night, or something. She focused on her beautiful, beautiful cupcakes.
Cassie left a few minutes later taking two cupcakes on the way to the hospital. She loved her cupcakes, and yeah she talks about cupcakes way too much that anyone actually cares, but she adores cupcakes, way too much.
Cassie isn't stuck with Alex this week, she's thankful for that piece of, but she's stuck with just some scraps on the knees who think they're going to die from it. It's boring, to say the least. She's thankful once a break rolls around. More cupcakes, and the savor from boredom for a bit at least. "Hey, sweetheart." She hears guesses who from behind her.
"Alex." Cassie plainly says. She continues walking, but of course, Alex catches up with his fast ass walking.
"Hey, hey, hey. Slow down, sweetheart." Alex continues to follow her, she doesn't respond. "You missin' me darling?"
Cassie turned the corner, he still appeared at her side. "Not in the least."
"Oh, you do?" Alex says convincing Cassie that she might actually miss him. Of all people. "It's about the brother thing I said, isn't it?" She continues her silence streak. "Look, I'm sorry, but sweetheart--"
Cassie interrupts before anything else can come out of his mouth, "I'm gonna stop you there. You're a jackass, I've always known it and you will always be like that, it doesn't surprise me. It surprised me that sometimes you might actually show emotion, but you hid it before anyone gets the chance to really ask you about it." She practically wants to burst out laughing at the look upon his face. "I imagine something really bad must have happened to you in you're childhood. When you were young, I presume. I'm not going to bother asking you about since I know you won't tell me so I just like to say, it's typically. You're a jackass, of course, you're a jackass and you'll always be a jackass. Unless you prove otherwise, which you won't. You don't have much time left to not be a jackass. I have one question for you though: Do you want to be a jackass?" She leaves him at that before hear whatever his shitty answer would probably be.
Cassie just casually did her boring work till the night had fallen she met her people lying on beds in the darkened hall. Meredith was discussing how she tried to talk Dr. Shepherd out of the clot surgery she just came out of. Clot surgery. Surgery. She missed the OR since the last time she scooped a clot out only a few weeks ago.
"Basically, you tried to kill the guy," Alex commented on Meredith's clot surgery.
"Basically, you're an ass," Cristina told Alex. Jackass, as the correct terminology after her speech to The Jackass, Cassie's calling him that now.
"You know you want it," Alex responds in the Alex way he always does. "Come to papa, baby."
"Is everything that comes out of your mouth sexual?" Cassie truly is curious if this is true because she seriously believes it's either sexual or jackassy. George interrupted with his announcement of a date. She jumped off the old patient bed and began to exit.
"Check the left pocket of my lab coat Georgie. No glove, no love." Alex hopped up onto his feet and followed her out. George yanked Alex back taking the condoms out.
"Always following me, Karev?" Cassie asks him as he walked out.
"You calling me Karev now?" Alex asks her, still behind her.
For some reason, Cassie slows down so Alex can catch up. She doesn't know why she bothers with The Jackass, but for some reason, she slows down. "Your are too disgusting for me to say your name at this point. Would you rather The Jackass? I'm calling you that in my mind now."
"Ah, so you're thinking about me?" Of course, he says.
"You know you're thinking about me," Cassie tells him, making him stop walking, she continues though.
"Oh, you dirty, dirty peds patient."
