oh, the guilt
Cassie wishes she wasn't on-call last night. Part of that has to do with Alex and that they have been spending the night together ever since Cassie got drunk and suddenly got confidence. Also—and this ties in with the whole Alex thing—she hasn't been getting much sleep lately. She also messed some better important stuff.
The air had been getting cold lately and there are goosebumps up and down her whole arm and she needs to get a long sleeve. Cassie walked into the locker room for rounds after leaving the on-call room she spent the night in. "She almost battered and deep-fried an $8.5 million check this morning." Meredith was sharing with Cristina, Alex, and George.
"Woah," Cassie quacked stopping in front of the row, "who's got the $8.5 million check?"
"Izzie," George answered taking a bite of his granola bar.
Cassie's mouth dropped open, "From..."
"Denny," George replied.
Cassie's mouth dropped again as she walked over to her locker, "He was that rich?"
"$8.5 million rich," George noted leaning against the locker next to Cassie's. Cassie opened her locker and riffled through looking for a long sleeve as Cristina discussed what she'd do with $8.5 million.
"I'm fine." A voice chimed in on the other side of the lockers, "I am cleaning out my locker and I am going home." The voice Cassie had now recognized as Izzie's. "Mer is the one with the problems." Everyone's heads then turning to the other blonde looking like a mess.
Meredith stopped putting on her shoes and asked, "What's wrong with me?"
Cassie rolled her eyes before going back through her locker and commenting, "The fact you even have to ask that means there is something wrong with you."
"Well," Izzie—now leaning against the row of lockers—imparted, "now you haven't told McDreamy that you dumped McVet."
Cassie stopped going through her locker and turned her head to Meredith, "You broke up with McVet? God, I miss so much when I'm on-call."
George turned to her, "That happened a while ago."
"Whatever," Cassie puffed out as she turned back to her locker to rummage through.
"What are you looking for?" George asked due to Cassie's loud frustration.
Cassie rolled her eyes continuing to search, "I swore I had a long sleeve in here. Goddamnit." She produced to look even though she knew nothing would be there.
"Well, maybe if you didn't have so much crap in there," Alex muttered.
The blonde turned around mocking him, "Well, maybe if you didn't have so much crap in there." She turned back continuing before Bailey came in yapping about rounds.
