I woke up early the next morning. day 2 of this hell hole. well I guess it's a little better now that I've got a friend.

I hear a knock on the door and then it opens. It's Julia.

"On you're awake! Good morning." She says.

"Good morning." I reply.

"I brought you a new pair of scrubs."

She walks over and hands them to me. They're a light purple this time. Not this ugly blue.

"Finally, a pretty color." I say.

"Go ahead and change then go to the cafeteria." She directs me.

"Okay."

She leaves.

I quickly change and go downstairs. I make my way into the cafeteria. I immediately skim the room, looking for Maya. Not many people are down here yet considering it's only 7:00am...

I spot Maya in line getting food. I run up behind her.

"Hey hey hey." I say.

She turns around seeming a little frightened but she quickly shakes it off.

"Damn I didn't think you'd be up this early! But I'm so happy you are." She says smiling.

I smile too. I can't believe she's actually happy to see me.

"Well at the orphanage we had to be up at 7:00 so I guess it's kinda a routine for me now." I tell her as I grab a plate.

The line is sorta like a buffet. We get to pick what we want as we go down the line. The only difference is at the end the lady marks down what we're eating and calories and stuff.

"Mmm... I see... I have one of those body alarm clocks so I'm always up early. It gets annoying." She tells me as we move down the line.

"Sounds like it."

We finish getting our food and the lady write it all down. Then we go to the same table we ate at yesterday and sit down.

"So how'd you sleep?" I ask her.

"Pretty good surprisingly." She tells me.

"You usually don't sleep good?"

"I get nightmares a lot... but last night was different... I actually went to sleep peacefully..."

"Good... I'm-I'm sor-sorry about-your night-nightmares..." I stutter.

"It's okay... they'll go away..." She tells me.

We talk more and finish up eating.

"We're doing pretty good and it's only day 2" I say.

"Yeah, I'm proud of us." She says.

"Me... me too... I just... hope we con-continue too... do good..." I stutter nervously.

"Don't worry. We will. We can keep each other on track." She says smiling.

"That's a wonderful idea." I agree.

"We better get going to Riley's office."

"Oh yeah! I forgot!" I tell her.

"Well now you remember! Com' on!" She says laughing.

I smile. We grab our plates and put them on the counter. We walk out of the cafeteria.

"Do we have to go early?" I ask Maya.

"Depends. Do you want to?" She asks me.

"No..."
