Granted, Raph didn't pay anything for you (how would he? He's a turtle living in the sewers). But he still wondered if you really needed all those things. Those expensive bags? New nails every two weeks? So many face creams and perfumes and lotions and what not. Constantly working on yourself, spending so much money. But then again, what was he supposed to do? He couldn't tell you to stop, he couldn't force you to be someone else. He was still in love with you. No matter how high maintenance you were. He often acted like he didn't really care or was annoyed but deep down he smiled. He just hoped that you wouldn't take that "played annoyance", gentle teasing, for real. That you would have had enough of him and just leave. He loved joking about it but only as long as you're okay with it too.
