"You will do that now. You will tell her", Raph said to himself.
It's a rare sight to see big, broad Raph being a mess. He didn't know what to do or say but he did know that he needed to confess his love to you. It just went on for too long. You've been over at the lair more often, you two did hang out a lot, so of course he had feelings for you. You were there when he needed you, you listen to him when he ranted about god knows what. How could he not fall in love with you? You were perfect. Beautiful, smart, funny, compassionate. Granted, he knew you'd never fall for him but it was worth a shot. There had to be some feelings for him. He could tell from the way you looked at him. Currently he was standing (or more hunched) in front of a mirror to see how his facial expressions should work. Should he smile, should he look like made out of stone, should he look a little ... no forget, he shouldn't look angry at all.
"I love you", he said.
It felt so weird to say. How would it be for you to hear it? He was close to piss his pants to be honest. He took a deep breath, stood up tall and thought about what he would say ... again. How hard could it be? Three words. Not a whole essay, oh my god.
"I think I love you"
No that sounded even worse. I think I love you? So you're not sure? Damn.
"What are you doing, Raph?", someone behind him said.
He knew that voice too well. It was you. How did you get here? Without any noise? You've been hanging out with ninja waaaay too much it seemed.
"I ... nothing", he said and shrugged as he turned around.
"For nothing you sound very nervous", you smiled.
This was it. He had to tell you. Yes, the moment might not have been right, but was it ever? Don't look at him like that. With that smile, that reached your eyes and made them sparkle so beautifully. He blushed a little, looked away quickly but then turned back to you.
"Well", he started and rubbed the back of his neck.
"Yes?", you asked.
He didn't know you had feelings for him too. Of course you loved his brothers and Splinter but the only real reason you visited them so often was Raph. It's nice to train with Leo or play video games with Mikey but the best thing is to hang out with Big Red.
Silence. This was more than the usual "awkward silence". This was really weird. None of you talked, you just looked at each other, anticipating the next step. Raph took another deep breath and then said:
"Iloveyouokay?"
You blinked a few times, having trouble to comprehend what he just said.
"You what now?", you asked.
"Don't laugh okay? I knew this was a bad idea", he gave back.
Making him angry wasn't your intention, you truly didn't understand it the first time.
"Honestly Raph, I didn't hear it. Can you please say it more ... clearly?", you suggested.
"Fine", he huffed, "I love you."
"You ... you do?", you wondered.
"Yeah", he shrugged.
This was not the reaction he wanted. But what did he expect? That you'd run into his arms and kiss him silly?!
"I love you too"
Did he hear that right? Moments passed before he realized that both of you were standing still, once again waiting for something to happen.
"Is that good?", he then asked
You laughed. You didn't expect him to lighten the mood that quick.
"Well given the fact you love me too I guess it's really good", you smiled.
