~Chandelier's pov
I just finished my audition for the Dragon's junior team so I went into the changing room. I took off the jersey which I had used for the audition, then I put my clothes back on. I stood in front of the mirror to get one last look at myself. My hair was a lot messed up, so I tried to fix it.
I thought I was the only one in the changing room until a door flung open and a girl came out from one of the restrooms. I stared at her through the mirror. She was still in her jersey. She smiled at me, I returned the smile without turning around. She went to the last sink in the row, and started washing her hands. She stared at me through her Lashes.
"Nice hair" she said, nodding at me.
"Thank you." I replied, giving her a modest smile before resuming working on my hair.
"I'm Miriam by the way." Her eyes fixed on me, but I didn't stare back, at least not directly.
"Chandelier" I said, taking a quick glance at her through the mirror.
"You did well at the audition" Miriam smiled. "Really impressive."
I gave her a small smile, looking at her this time. "Thanks. You did well too." I said, to which she smiled. She must've thought I said that just to be nice. Well actually, I did say that just to be nice. It's like a culture to compliment people back when they compliment you, right?
She took the liquid wash bottle and poured small liquid on her Palm and continued scrubbing them. She must've gotten something greasy or sticky on her hands for her to wash them that much.
I finished wrapping my hair in a cute bun, pretty satisfied with what I did with my hair. I grabbed my bag which was hanging on the bathroom door, and threw it on one shoulder.
"See ya around." I said, nodding at her.
"Yeah, bye" Miriam replied.
I opened the door and went out of the changing room to meet up with Cindy and the twins. There were a lot of players, both guys and girls prowling about the hallways. They all seemed busy going about their businesses.
I'm definitely gonna love it here. I mean, if this were to be High School, no one would mind their damn business. You'd see girls gossiping and guys smirking at you each time you walk pass them. But here? There's no such behaviour in a professional team.
"Look who made the team!" Christy shrilled as soon as she sighted me.
"Jeez girl, you don't have to scream" I winced, using my first fingers to block my ears.
"Sorry" Christy mumbled, "I don't know why I'm always loud." She apologized, twisting her fingers in a childish manner. Cindy and Annabella giggled.
"Congrats girl. I knew you'd make the team" Cindy gave me a high five.
"Thank you, really" I said genuinely.
"So now" Cindy started "we should..."
"Go shopping!" Christabella squealed, causing everyone to jump in shock.
"Or we could just go over to Cindy's house now and start fixing things up for the party?" Annabella snapped at her twin.
"I'm not going to put on an old dress for the party" Christabella shot back.
"No one is asking you to, okay?" Cindy shook her head. "Let's just go to the mall, we could use some new outfits anyways"
Christy jumped in excitement. Annabella rolled her eyes at Christy's misbehaviour. I just stood, watching them go back and forth about where to go next. This is what a Cliché girl's life is like huh? So much drama and whining about everything.
