~Chandelier's pov
Bell rings!
My next class was history, I walked down the hallways to the classroom. I was about entering the classroom, when a hand rested on my shoulders. I twirled around and came face to face with Pete. I bet my heart skipped a beat when I saw him. Well, the reason is understandable, I mean it's been hate and snub between us over the weeks.
Pete stood, staring into my eyes. His face was blank, no emotion, no expression. I simply just stare him back in the eyes.
He exhaled and said, "I wanted to talk to you, if that's ok."
"Like now?" I asked. He nodded. I blew out a breath. "I can spare a minute before the history class." I shrugged, wondering what he wanted to say, after being such an asshole the last time we spoke.
"Okay good." Pete started. "Well I wanted to apologize for what I said last week, but then, I don't want to apologize for it." Pete said nonchalantly
I narrowed my eyes at him, not sure what he meant. He ignored my confused look and went on.
"I would've said that I'm sorry for the way I chose to protect my sister but, it's not like I was wrong all along. I told you not to..."
"You don't have to rub it on my face Pete." I said, cutting him short.
We stared at each other for a minute. I sighed and looked away. I knew what Pete was trying to do and I hated it. He may be right about the fire stating from the band's wired guitar but that doesn't mean Selene was mistaken about what she heard Catherine say.
"You didn't want Selene to go to the cops because you were protecting your sister. I get it."
"No you don't. I don't appreciate people putting my sister at risks." Pete blurted.
"I never put your sister at risk, we only told the cops. How is telling the cops putting someone at risk? The cops would never give up a witness." I yelled.
"What if Cat had found out that Selene was the one who told the cops that she was behind the fire, uh? Can you imagine what Cat would have done to my sister?!"
"All I know is, Selene did the right thing." I stated.
"Selene was drunk!" Pete yelled at me. "She thought she heard Cat plot to destroy Cindy's party, but she didn't. That's what happens when you're drunk, you'd think you heard something right when you didn't."
"That's not true. the band may have caused the fire, but that doesn't mean Selene was wrong. If Catherine never had bad intentions she wouldn't have been at the party the first place. It was probably fortunate for her that fire happened, so she didn't have to carry out whatever plans she had." I hissed.
"Maybe you're right, maybe you're not. But my concern is my sister. And if she's your friend, you'd be concerned too." Pete huffed out.
"She is, and I care about her. You hear me?" I stated.
"Ya right." Pete scuffed and walked pass me into the classroom.
I signed bitterly, why would he even think that I don't care about selene. She's the best friend I have in this school. I would never hurt her.
I went into the classroom, and did I quick scan. There was a seat close to Pete, but I don't feel like sitting anywhere near him right now. I quickly take the seat at the far left side of the classroom just before Mr Pedro came into the classroom.
The whole lesson went in a blur, as I was too mad to pay any attention, all thanks to Pete.
