25(Jeffer)

My head hurts like shit. I searched my phone with my hand as I kept my head under the pillows. I took a grasp of my phone, I checked if I received any messages.

Biglang bumilis ang tibok ng puso ko her name appeared on my screen. My love of my life my Miu na sobra kung sinaktan.
Jeffer please talk to me. Do you really don't love me anymore? Do you really have to be this way? You know that I always love you, Jeffer. Her message said. It felt like a sharp knife pierced through my heart. Sa pagkakataon na ito parang gusto ko ng magreply sa kanya. Nang biglang sumagi sa isipan ko ang arranged marriage na sinasabi ni mommy. My fingers stopped from typing. I threw my phone out of frustration.

I wanted to run out and scream my situation is suffocating me. How I wish na sana panaginip lang ang lahat ng ito.

"Salamat anak at dumating ka."
Ngayon ang araw na makikilala ko ang babaeng sumira sa amin ni Miu.
"Try to put a smile son and please don't be rude." My mom warned me.
I sigh heavily.
Nasa luxurious restaurant kami nakaupo at naghihintay ni mommy.
"Here they come." Mom said when she spot them.
"Hi, Aurora it's good to see you." I bet she is the mother of that woman.
Actually dalawa lang ang dumating.
"Oh, you look great Amanda." My mom hug her.
"You must be Jeffer." Amanda's husband offer a shake hands.
Although I want to refuse that hand shake but I can't.
"Nice to meet you, Jeffer I'm Ronaldo your soon to be father in law."
Mukhang mabait naman si Ronaldo at si Amanda but still I hate this kind of arrangement.
"Where's Yara?" Mom asked.
"Paparating na siya, actually may dinaanan lang siya kaya nauna na kami ni Ronaldo."

"Sana nga hindi na siya dumating."

"You're son is very handsome Aurora kaya bagay na bagay kayo ni Yara." Amanda said.

I feel disgusted bagay daw kami ng anak niya nakakatawa.

"Jeffer she compliments you why don't you talk." My mom gently tap my shoulder.

"I'm sorry I just lost in thought." I quickly smiled then as usual back to my poker face.

"Honey come here, nandito na siya." Amanda smile.

I rolled my eyes as she said it.

"Jeffer ayan na ang magiging asawa mo." Ronaldo said.

Actually hindi ko siya nilingon hanggang nakaupo na lang siya sa tabi ni Amanda.

"Hello, my name is Yara Lim nice to meet you." 

I was looking at her with no reaction.

That's it? She is the girl that I will getting tied off. She looks like a school nerd that you see in the movies.
Those eyeglasses I can't believe may nagsusuot pa ng eyeglasses ngayon karamihan kasi nakacontact lens na.
That's it I'm doomed!

"Jeffer? Son, Jeffer?" I can't count kung ilang beses akong tinawag ng mommy ko. I was lost in my thought again.

"Jeffer, you should introduce yourself to her."

"My name is Jeffer."

"You are a shy boy." Ronaldo laughed.

"Jeffer I want you to take good care of our daughter Yara. You know that may kasunduan kami ng iyong ama at gusto ko lang tuparin iyon. I know you are shocked in this situation but soon I hope that you will cherish Yara." Ronaldo getting sentimental.

I cringed deep inside parang gusto ko magwala pero naiisip ko ang company ni daddy.

"Don't worry Ronaldo mabait na bata ang anak ko even though he doesn't want this kind of arrangement but still nandito siya ngayon." 

"Nag-usap na kami ni Yara at wala namang problema sa anak ko ang nasabing arrangement na ito." He glance to her daughter.

I was looking to the nerd girl so shy looking at me. Kaya ba pumapayag siya sa arrangement na ito dahil alam niyang walang magkakagusto sa kanya. How pathetic!

"Jeffer what is your thoughts about my daughter?" Amanda snapped my thought.

"I think she's boring." I can see the shocked face of my mother. Now I said it.

"Jeffer, don't be rude. Pasensiya na kayo pagod lang ang anak ko." My mom feel embarrassed at halatang pinagtatakpan lang yung mga sinabi ko.

"It's okay, kaya nga bagay kayo." Her dad smiled. Seriously hindi siya na offend sa sinabi ko.

"Dad stop." Yara said and I think she's blushing.

"I know your an honest man you said what you feel and what you see. Kaya nga Jeffer ikaw ang kailangan ng anak ko you can change her." Amanda said.

"Make her into a wonderful woman." She added.

"Seriously?! Ano ba ang tingin niyo sa isang kasal? Yung tipong magkakaroon ka lang ng taong makakasama kahit hindi mo mahal." Now I begun to explode.

Halatang nag-iba ang mukha ni Amanda at ang asawa nito na si Ronaldo sa sinabi ko.

"I told you mom hindi niya ito gusto." Hirit ni Yara.

"Bakit, ikaw ba gusto mo ba ito? Gusto mo ba na ikasal sa taong ngayon mo lang nakilala?" I was staring to Yara.
I can't get answer from her.

"How rude you are. That's it! we are done. I don't think kaya ko na ipagkatiwala ang anak ko sa isang bastos at hambog na katulad mo." Inis na sabi ni Amanda.

"Calm down honey. Please." Ronaldo trying to calm his wife.

"I'm sorry sa inasal ng anak ko.Excuse us." Mom pulled me away from them.

"So, this is your plan to ruined everything?!" I know how angry mom right now.

"Mommy halata naman na hindi rin gusto ng anak nila na ikasal kami. May masama ba akong sinabi?!"

"I can't believe how selfish you are Jeffer! Hindi mo inisip na nakataya rito ang pinaghirapan na kompanya ng daddy mo."

Biglang nanumbalik sa akin ang promise na binitiwan ko kay daddy.

"Kung wala na talagang puwang sayo ang pinaghirapan ng daddy mo, sige sirain mo ang gabi na ito!"

It's like punch in my face kapag napag-uusapan na ang company ni daddy.

"Fine, I'll be nice this time."

Bumalik na kami sa table ni Mom.

"So, I guess it didn't work out. I think we should leave." Amanda demand.

"Honey." Ronaldo trying to stop his wife.

"Sorry sa inasal ko kanina." I stand and bow my head.

"It's okay, Jeffer alam ko na nagulat ka lang sa sitwasyon." Ronaldo being understanding.

"Honey, I can't believe gusto mo pa rin siya despite sa ipinakita niya kanina."

"Mom, dad I think Jeffer is right. Itigil na natin to." Yara announced.

"Pumapayag na ako sa kasal natin." I announced.
You can't backout now after you started the fire.

Halatang nagulahan din si Yara sa akin.

"Good, young man. I think we should plan the wedding." Ronaldo said but his wife Amanda she is annoyed at me.
