One Night Surprise

I woke up to her facing me. Prey's arm was around my waist and she was hugging me. My heart is pounding like crazy that feeling when you heard that thud sound of your heartbeat it feels like it can wake her up. I want to stay like this for a moment, her sleeping face beside me.
Suddenly my eyes focus on her lips.
Napalunok ako ng laway.
Her lips were relaxed she has a plump pink lips. I remember the last time I landed on her lips she is so mad at me. I made her cry because she felt I violated her and I know I was so stupid at that time.
Napalunok na naman ako ng laway.
Erase your dirty thought LJ kahit gustuhin ko man na halikan siya but I want to make sure na gusto rin ni Prey na halikan ko siya.
Suddenly she opened her eyes when she realized she was hugging me she break the hug.
"Did I wake you up?" I asked.
"Nope, but did I disturb you?" She asked.
"It's okay." I assured her infact gusto ko nga na nagising akong nakayakap siya sa akin.
"I thought you are a pillow that's why I hug you." She said.
"You think?" I smiled.
Biglang bumangon si Prey.
"Prey thank you for letting me sleep beside you." I blurted.
She gaze at me for a moment.
"I will prepare breakfast you can take a shower." She said tapos lumabas na siya ng room.

Si Prey lang usually nagluluto because of the fact that I don't know how to cook. Sometimes kinukulit ko siya to cook me a food at first naasar siya but then nasasanay na rin siya.
The mood in the house medyo binabalance pa namin ni Prey sometimes we feel awkward but most of the times sakto lang.
"What are your plans for today?" I asked. We are eating breakfast.
"I will stay at home." She answered.
"Gusto mo samahan na lang kita dito?"
"You are not going to teach taekwondo? Aabsent ka?"
"Yes, aabsent ako kung gusto mo."
"No, the kids are expecting to see you LJ, you are their teacher."
But I want more to spend time with her parang wala akong ganang pumasok.
"How about dalhan na lang kita ng lunch sa school." She offered.
"Really?"
She nod to confirm na dadalhan niya talaga ako ng lunch.

My happiness is evident in my face.
I can't believe one day I would this be very happy going to work. Masaya naman ako na nagtuturo ng taekwondo sa bata ever since but today is so special because Prey offered me to bring lunch later.
I was in the hallway ng sumalubong sa akin si Chantal.
"LJ can we talk?"
"Chantal matagal na tayong wala ano pa ba ang gusto mo?"
"I'm sorry kung naging rude ako but LJ gusto ko lang naman na magkaayos tayo." She tries to hold my hand but I refuse.
"What? Seriously ano bang gusto mong sabihin?"
"Fine, if you don't love me anymore maybe we can still be friends? right?"
"Friends? Yung lang ba gusto mo?Fine, we can be friends." If Chantal expecting more than friends I don't think kaya ko ibigay yun. Friendship is the only thing I can offer to Chantal that's it!
"I'm happy to see you LJ." She added.
"Kung wala ka ng sasabihin mauna na ako Chantal dahil naghihintay na ang mga students ko."
"Thank you LJ for being my friend again I promise magiging mabait ako sa babae mo."
I have no choice but to accept the friendship she offered besides mukhang genuine naman siya sa sinabi niya. Kung friendship lang naman pala ang gusto ni Chantal napakasama ko naman kung ipagkakait ko pa sa kanya besides may pinagsamahan rin naman kami ni Chantal.

An hours later I peered on the clock it's been 10 am. How I wish sana bumilis na ang takbo ng oras para naman makita ko na si Prey.
It's my break time dahil tapos na akong magturo ng taekwondo sa mga bata. I was in the garden bench ng makita ko na naman si Chantal. Akala ko nakauwi na siya.
"Chantal ano pa ang ginagawa mo dito?"
"Actually LJ I was waiting for you, here I bought a food."
Napansin ko yung dala niyang lalagyan ng pagkain.
"Gusto ko lang naman bigyan ka ng pagkain now that we are friends. Masaya lang ako LJ." She added.
"Thank you pero may hinihintay ako Chantal I don't think na kakainin ko yung dala mong pagkain."
"You mean darating yung babae?"
"She's my wife Chantal at tigilan mo nga kakasabi mo ng babae naiinis ako." Now I said it. Hindi lang basta babae si Prey, asawa ko siya.
"Oh, I'm sorry." She's taken a back.
"About the food LJ ibigay mo na lang sa mga kasamahan mo." Inilapag niya yung dala niyang pagkain sa empty bench.
"Chantal thank you sa pagkain."
She smile then walk away.

It's lunch break pero hindi pa rin dumarating si Prey. I can hear my stomach growling. Habang ako nakatunganga na nakatingin sa mga kasamahan ko na kumakain na, that's right sarap na sarap nilang kinakain yung dala na food ni Chantal.
I'm sure baka natraffic lang si Prey or maybe may dinaanan kaya na delay yung food ko. It's been 1pm but still wala pa rin si Prey. I tried to call her but it keeps ringing I text her pero nireply wala akong natanggap. I feel weird about it. Kaya nagmadali akong umalis I need to go home urgently.
Nang makapasok na ako sa bahay I saw Prey lying on the floor. Agad ko siyang binuhat tapos ipinasakay ng kotse.
I drive my car fast I'm afraid of what might happen.
"Hang on Prey malapit na tayo sa hospital"
I was in the waiting area try to calm myself. Theres so many negative questions in my mind. Minutes later lumabas na ang doctor.
"Mr. Reyes your wife is safe at safe rin ang baby but your wife needs to take an iron supplement. Due to her pregnancy her body produces more blood to support the growth of the baby but she's not getting enough iron or certain other nutrients that's why she collapsed." The doctor tapped my shoulder before he go.
Nagmadali akong lumapit kay Prey.
Unconscious pa rin siya I hold her hand. Ang alam ko hate ni Prey uminom ng mga supplement or gamot naalala ko pa nung mga bata kami kapag nagkakalagnat siya pahirapan pa siya ipainumin ng paracetamol. I get it, she's not taking any vitamins because she hates capsule pwera na lang kung liquid kaya niya ito mainom.
She slowly opened her eyes.
I was looking at her in concerned.
"Are you okay? Do you feel dizzy?"
She held her head.
"Why are you not telling me that you are not taking any vitamins?"
"You know I hate capsule LJ I can't swallow it."
"Have you tried any liquid vitamins?"
"I did."
"I was preparing your food when suddenly I feel dizzy and lost consciousness(she pause) the baby? Is the baby fine LJ?"
"He is fine Prey."
She let a sigh knowing that the baby is fine.
"About your food."
"I'm fine Prey actually kumain na ako." I lied para na rin hindi na siya mag-alala.
Suddenly my stomach betrayed me. She heard my stomach growled.
Prey smile because she caught me lying.
