38: "i have a girlfriend"

"to you guys!" i poured sarah and brendon a drink each and poured myself some coke. we clinked glasses and drank up.

sarah and brendon were officially engaged and we were celebrating with drinks. a ring shon on sarahs finger. they shared a kiss and finished their drinks.
"man im so happy" brendon smiled.
"yay!" i hugged him then took their glasses and washed them up.

sarah and brendon were texting their relatives about the news. i went in the garden to call paige. i was going to ask her to be my girlfriend. i didn't really have a crush on her anymore but maybe the feelings would come back?

i dialled her number and she picked up.
"hi" she said plainly.
"hey. you okay?" i asked.
"yeah, you?" she replied.
"im good. uh...so remember our date when you told me you wanted to be my girlfriend?"
"yeah?"
"well...i was thinking maybe we could give it a go? thats if you're still up for it"

"oh...about that...i got a girlfriend" she said.
"really? no way! spill!" i grinned.
"oh! uh her names sierra-" i cut her off.
"does she have a bird tattoo on her neck?"
"yeah! do you know her?" she asked.
"shes my ex girlfriend"

i ended the call a few minuets later and sighed. she took jessica. she took paige. what could i do?
"hey you okay?" brendon came outside. i shrugged.
"we can talk later" i stood up. "this is your day" i hugged him. "im so happy for you"
"thanks strawberry" my heart fluttered. he hadn't called me that in ages. "you're the reason me and sarah started dating. you pushed me to ask her out and i did. and you pushed me to ask her to marry me. thank you so much for existing and being in my life"

"of course. i love you"
