JK's POV:

Let's get down to it.

That sounded dirty.

Oh, I didn't realize I was linking you.

You're anxious, that's why Kook.

Yeah, I guess.

So wanna tell me who you getting down and dirty with?

Not what I meant Tae. They're here. The committee is here. They're driving in from the gates. I'll see you in a few, I guess.

I can't wait. Taehyung snarled in my head, the sarcasm dripping through, making me chuckle.
Namjoon hyung turned his head slightly to look at me, and I beamed a full-blown smile at him. He turned his head completely towards me, a little startled but then I saw his lips curve up at the ends slightly.

"I'm glad you're taking this well, Jungkook. That's how we'll get them."

I didn't want him to glimpse my inner turmoil, so I just nodded in response to him and we turned our attention back towards the cars inching in through the gates. The first car stopped right beside us, and the passenger seat was rolled down. Namjoon hyung was instantly in Alpha mode.

The person who leaned out made my wolf instantly raise his hackles. We knew this guy. He proposed the death penalty at my first trial, all those years ago.

"Chief Jaehwan. Welcome to Bangtan's pack territory."

"Alpha Kim Namjoon, I would say it's a pleasure but wherever the WPC is needed, it's never for pleasure."

"Maybe we could change that over this visit."

The man laughed loudly, the sound booming all around.

"You always were a quick one Namjoon. I hope you don't mind me calling you by your first name?"

"Not at all. Please do so."

"Very well then. This young man standing behind you, I sense that he is the same child we met over for before once." His eyes shifted towards me as he spoke, and I felt my wolf bristle.

Now or never Jungkook.

"I am the same child you mentioned, chief Jaehwan. Welcome to our pack." I said with as much conviction I could.

His eyes narrowed slightly, and I felt a tremor go down my spine.

"Not a child anymore I see. A young man. A young mated man. But that is what brings us here. doesn't it?"

I pursed my lips and only nodded in reply. His eyes bore into mine and I again felt a tremor rack through my body, but I refused to break the eye contact.

"Chief, you and the other members must be tired, allow us to direct you to your accommodations."

I felt grateful for Joon hyung's interruption. The man reluctantly looked away from me and looked at Namjoon.

"Yes, that would be pertinent."

"Hoseok!" Joon hung waved Hoseok hyung over from his position by the gates, "Please lead our guests to the guest houses, and make sure they have everything they need."

"Yes, Alpha." Hoseok hyung replied, his entire demeanor opposite to his usual sunny self.

"I will see you and your mate at dinner." Chief Jaehwan said, as Hoseok hyung started to wave over the other cars idling behind his.

Once all we could see was dirt, Joon hyung dragged a hand down his face.

"I hate that man."

"I feel you, hyung."

"Let's go Kookie. I wanna see Jin. You should see Taehyung and prepare him too."

---------------------------------------

"Joooooon. You didn't even ask him how many people arrived with him? There must be the committee members and trial jury and their guards and..."

"Jin. Darling. I had other things on my mind."

"But how am I supposed to know how much food we should prepare?!"

"Just have it prepared as we do during normal pack gatherings." Namjoon hyung sighed as he slumped onto the kitchen table.

Instantly Jin hyung rushed to his side and hugged him from the side, as best as he could.

"Sorry Joon. I think I'm just trying to focus on the trivial matters, so I don't have to think about the other matters."

Namjoon hyung raised his head from the table and pulled Jin hung closer into the hug, inhaling deeply. I immediately felt like I was interrupting a private moment, so I slipped off the chair and out the door.

Taheyung? Where are you? I mentally linked my mate, needing his comfort just as my Alpha needed his mate's.

Playroom.

I made my way over to the playroom; it was again washed in darkness and the huge screen was dominated by a brown dog and lanky guy.

I saw a head turn towards me and focused my vision to recognize Taehyung smiling at me.

Come on Kook. Its Scooby Doo time. He said through our mate link, probably not wanting to disturb the others spread around on the couches. In a few seconds I was on the couch squeezing the life out of him as I took in his alluring scent. I heard his silent laughter in my ear and reared my head back to look at him.

"Hi." I saw his eyes twinkle in the light of the screen.

"Hey." I replied, my hands wrapping around him firmly as he settled next to me.

How was it?

I turned my head towards him and saw his gaze trained at me.

Not bad.

You okay, Kook? He raised his hand to cup my cheek and I pressed my face into his palm.

It was fine, Tae. We'll have to contend with them at dinner.

And we will. He leaned forward and pressed his lips softly against mine.

I'll never get tired of this. I felt him laugh at my words before he pulled back and turned towards the screen.

Really Taehyung. I'll never get tired of hearing your voice in my head, your laughter and the feeling of your lips pressed against mine.

I saw his face break into a small smile as he squeezed our clasped hands.

I rather like it too, Jungkook.
