Act 68: The Party

"It's showtime, my dude." Said Ren. "C'mon, let's go. Kai-En-Tai is only a short walking distance from here.

After an hour-long drive all over town, Ren and Yuichi were finally close to their desitination: Kai-En-Tai.

Yuichi was sitting silently on the back seat until he heard Ren's reply. After which he gets up and leaves the car.

As soon as Yuichi got out of the car, Ren suddenly patted him by his shoulder.

"Go get 'em, big guy." Said Ren.

Yuichi nods in response, as they eventually go to their next destination: Kai-En-Tai.

-Kai-En-Tai 4:11 PM-

At exactly 12 in the afternoon, Ren and Yuichi finally reached the Kai-En-Tai bar and resto.

But before they could get in, the guard asked the two for their invitations.

"Invitations please." Said the guard.

Ren and Yuichi each gave them forged invitations to pass themselves off as Evelyn Lau's business partners.

"Strange... I don't see your names on the guest lists." Said the guard.

"Oh! Uhh..." Yuichi replied.

"We were actually invited at the last minute." Ren added.

"I know, I know. But rules are rules." Said the guard. "Not in the guest list, not invited. Now, if you would kindly leave this place, sir."

Ren and Yuichi proceeded to turn their backs and walk away from the guard... when suddenly, Ren pulled out a taser from his pocket and proceeds to quickly turn around and shock the guard, not letting go of the taser and shocking him for more than a few seconds.

By the time Ren let go of the taser, the guard was no longer breathing.

And now the two of them have to deal with the dilemma of having to hide the guard's now-lifeless corpse.

"Shit..." Ren thought.

Not knowing what to do, Ren scarmbled around to tell Yuichi what to do next.

"Yuichi, quick!" Whispered Ren. "Dump that body near that dumpster over there."

"What?!" Yuichi replied.

"Just do it!" Whispered Ren. "Believe me, we won't get caught if you do."

"Are you insane?! I can't carry a full-grown adult all by myself!" Yuichi replied. "Just hide him someplace dark."

"Fine..." Whispered Ren. "How about that flowerbed over there?"

Ren pointed toward the flowerbed behind them. Unfortunately, it wasn't big enough to stuff an entire body inside.

"Can't." Whispered Yuichi. "Too small."

"Dammit! That's why I told you to hide him in the dumpster!" Ren replied.

"If you say so, then why not help out yourself?!" Whispered Yuichi.

Ren stares at Yuichi with an exasperated look on his face, before eventually obliging. The two proceeded to carry the body around, doing it very carefully so as not to alarm anyone else.

Eventually, they reached the dumpster beside the establishment. Yuichi opens up the lid as he and Ren proceeded to throw the corpse into the bin full of rotting compost and gunk.

"Now that we took care of that." Said Ren. "Let's get inside."

Yuichi nods in response as they  eventually opened the doors to the inside of Kai-En-Tai.

-Kai-En-Tai 1st Floor 4:23 PM-

Due to their outfits, both Ren and Yuichi were able to blend into the rest of the partygoers without standing out.

"Look like our disguises are effective." Said Ren. "Now, let us take a seat. I'll tell you about the plan."

Ren and Yuichi searched for an empty table for two all over the place. Eventually, they found an empty table on the far corner and proceeded to sit on it.

"So, what are the plans?" Said Yuichi.

"I'll let the little princess have the time of her life for a while." Ren replied, pointing at a buzzer he hid underneath his right sleeve. "But as soon as 19:00 strikes, I press this buzzer over here."

"From there, dozens upon dozens of Red Lions would head on over and swarm the area." Ren continued. "They then come out of their cars and shoot up the entire fucking establishment."

"Dead bodies of White Lions all over the place." Ren continued. "That little princess ain't got nowhere to run."

"And that's where I jump in, right?" Said Yuichi.

"Yep. You swoop in and take the kill. Don't let that little princess escape." Ren replied. "After that, you can pretty much go buck wild on her. Let those pent-up emotions of utter hatred loose."

"But for now, let's enjoy the party, you feel me?" Ren continued."

"You sure we'll do fine?" Said Yuichi.

"Psh, come on. I'm sure nobody would recognize you in here." Ren replied. "I mean, they don't recognize me either."

"Still... let's be careful and not alarm anyone else until 19:00, okay?" Said Yuichi. "I don't want to be the one picking up your ass when it's been handed to you."

Ren was slightly triggered by Yuichi's comment, but since he's in such a good mood right now, he chose to let it slide.

END OF FLASHBACK

-Kai-En-Tai 6:15 PM-

Yuichi and Ren were sitting in their seats, just chilling out and enjoying the party, when the emcee stepped in the stage to announce something.

The emcee clears his throat before beginning to speak.

"Ladies and gentlemen, introducing..." Said the emcee. "... our birthday girl, the beautiful and mesmerizing Evelyn Lau!"

A round of applause fills the room as the lights went dim for a brief moment.

Music: "Cold" by Static-X (Machine; 2001)

The dark, ambient, strangely sensual sound of industrial metal blasts through the speakers, as Evelyn slowly makes her entrance from the second floor, slowly walking through the stairs.

Wearing a silver evening gown and matching silver high-heel shoes, Evelyn exhibited an air of beauty and elegance, whilst still retaining her aura of dominance. Many of the partygoers were impressed by her gorgeous looks.

Ren and Yuichi, however...

"Hah! How appropriate of her." Said Ren. "Soon enough, that gown of hers is gonna be painted red."

"Ain't that right, Yu-" Ren continued.

Ren then saw Yuichi with a very angry look on his face. Evelyn's presence alone was able to piss Yuichi off.

"Okay... not in the mood for conversation then." Said Ren. "Oh, well. You'll get your chance later."

Back to the birthday girl, Evelyn makes her way to the main stage, and the emcee hands over his microphone, as she makes her speech to all the people who attended her gala night.

[music stops]

The music stops and the lights return as Evelyn begins her speech.

"First of all, I'm very thankful to all of my friends and allies who joined me in my 24th birthday." Said Evelyn. "Your presence alone means a lot to me."

Evelyn went on with her speech for a few more minutes. Ren and Yuichi were getting bored of her endless chatter, when suddenly...

"But for now, I'd like to make a surprise announcement to everyone here in the building." Said Evelyn. "I believe this newest acquisition is gonna shake up the White Lion triad as a whole."

"Introducing, the newest member of the White Lion triad..." Evelyn continued.
