In a dark, empty void, sits a mysterious entity shrouded in shadow. He sits lonely in his throne, watching over a small crack in the void that lets him see what the world beyond the void is like.

He is not an ordinary human, but a God of death, an omnipotent being who controls the concept of death, and decides whether or not the departed shall be absolved to Heaven, or sent to Hell. His kind is known by many names all over the world, but most Japanese call them "shinigami".

And right now, it seems as if he is utterly disappointed by the human race's actions.

"Look at what this world has become." Said the entity. "Nothing more than a cesspit of deception and hatred."

"I bestowed the concept of death upon the world as both a way of judgment against the wicked and a final saving grace for the ailing." The entity continued. "But now, it has been turned into a weapon by the wicked themselves."

"Confound it, I have been sitting on this throne for thousands of millennia, observing and bestowing death on those who deserve it." The entity continued. "And the longer I stay in my position, the worse humanity becomes!"

Losing his patience, the entity clenched his hand and grit his teeth out of rage.

"There must be someone to erase the wicked from the world. Someone, who can unite them, and have the wicked battle themselves..." Said the entity.

"Or maybe that someone... could be me..." The entity continued. "That's it!"

Amused by his own idea, the entity began to smirk, and chuckle. Soon enough, he began laughing all by his own.

"Yes! I, Ezdeath, the God of death, must create a game. Yes, a game involving the wicked. Where they would then slowly kill each other." Said the entity. "Where they would ERASE each other from existence."

"And the winner... could take my place. Yes... they could be the new God of death, and succeed my multi-millenium long regime." Ezdeath continued.

"But the question is... who shall I pick for this game...?" Ezdeath continued. "Which individuals are suited for a game like this?"

After a long look at the crack in the void, Ezdeath, the God of death, then saw what appears to be perfect candidates for his "game", which makes him smirk in delight.

"Hmm, this should be one interesting game..." Said Ezdeath.
