Act 12: The Mysteries

-Goto Residence 6:34 PM-

Later in the day, Mayuka went home from school, and was greeted by her girlfriend Shino.

"Hey, Mayu!" Said Shino.

"Hey, Shino..." Mayuka replied.

"Oh... you don't look so good, Mayu." Said Shino. "What happened?"

"It's nothing." Mayuka replied. "Just... something that happened at school. That's all."

"No, seriously, what happened?" Said Shino.

Mayuka sighs. She then whispered something toward Shino's ear.

"Can we talk upstairs, after dinner?" Whispered Mayuka.

Shino nods, after which Mayuka nods as well in response. The two then go inside the house.

-Mayuka's Bedroom 7:17 PM-

After dinner, Mayuka went to her bedroom to talk with Shino, who was playing with her phone at the time about the incident from school.

"As I was saying..." Said Mayuka.

"Oh, hey, Mayu." Shino replied. "So, what were you talking about earlier?"

"Well... it's about... something from school." Said Mayuka.

"Some jackasses picked on you again?" Shino replied.

"No, not that..." Said Mayuka.

Mayuka lets out a sigh.

"... I met this... new transfer student." Said Mayuka. "It was a guy... and he was so handsome..."

"Well, that's not a bad thing." Shino replied. "But, I thought you didn't like boys?"

"I know, that's the problem here. Whenever he's within my presence, I feel like I'm in... some sort of hypnotic trance or something." Said Mayuka. "And when he left, I suddenly snapped back to my original self. It's... really weird."

"Some say that's how love hits you the first time." Shino replied.

"Hmm... Maybe you're right." Said Mayuka. "But still... I can't shake off that shady feeling..."

"Say, Shino." Mayuka continued. "Are you... well enough to go back to school?"

"Oh... Umm..." Shino replied, tears rolling down her face.

"Yeah... I should've known..." Said Mayuka.

"I'm really sorry, Mayu... But... I don't really think I'm ready to return to the outside world for now..." Shino replied. "Not after... what happened yesterday..."

"It's OK, Shino. You don't have to if you don't want to..." Said Mayuka.

Shino continued to sob and cry. Seems like she really was shaken with all the happenings in her life right now. Realizing this, Mayuka gave a warm, loving hug to Shino in order to comfort her.

"Everything will be alright soon, Shino." Said Mayuka. "Just remember the promise that we made a while ago."

"... Okay." Shino replied, wiping the tears off of her face.

Mayuka then let go of the hug as Shino's cries subsided.

"Are you OK now?" Said Mayuka.

"I... think so..." Shino replied.

"I see..." Said Mayuka. "So, as I was saying."

"See, the reason I asked you, is so someone can have my back in case things go haywire." Mayuka continued.
