Hey guys, another update for today. Though I know that only a few people, or even no one, reads my novel, I'll still continue writing because this keeps me sane haha. I've managed to update this during breaks studying for the finals. Hope y'all have a good day! I'm a little inspired cause there's this one girl I met on the net hehe, and she seems kinda nice.

Chapter 9: The Bullying Continues

The day of the acquaintance party finally arrived on Saturday. As Eric and David sat among the audience of the senior high students in the auditorium, they couldn't help feeling anxious for the talent segment.

For the past couple of days they've been practicing together after school hours in the same spot behind Building A, and now, they can say that they've memorized the steps of the dance well. They were kinda confident about their number, but they were anxious as hell, so they figured they might ruin it.

They didn't really plan to perform a dance for this gathering, but after having thought for a considerable amount of time, David had snapped and just said, "Let's just fucking dance, for God's sake. I can't think of anything to do. You can sing, but I can't, and though I don't dance as well, at least, it won't be as embarrassing as hearing my ugly voice."

"What do we dance then?" Eric said, his face lit then by the orange sky above.

David had looked at his phone and saw the trending dances on a video site. He randomly picked one. It was a K-pop choreography that seemed famous nowadays. "How about this? Let's just get this over with."

So it was how they started memorizing for that stupid dance. Because it's part hip-hop and part urban, the steps are very intricate and complicated, coupled with popping and some tenderly sweet moves. The choreo was hard, but David was awestruck everytime Eric seemed to just memorize the choreography in one go.

Fortunately, though David's body was hard as driftwood, he was nonetheless a fast-learner, especially everytime Eric guided his body, touching his firm biceps and abdomen. Eric had even hit them as if doing so would soften his moves.

Their eyes both shot up at the stage when the Hive girls started performing a sensual dance that's also famous nowadays. Celeste performed unimaginable splits that one would imagine if her femininity was still intact.

The boys in the audience drooled and roared at the inappropriate sight at the stage, and some were so thick-faced as to throw their uniforms at the Hive girls, who happily picked them up and threw them back at the audience.

Suddenly, David saw a flying uniform. It hit him squarely on the face. He recoiled and spat, and threw the smelly uniform at its owner at the back. "Disgusting jerks!"

Eric can't stop himself laughing. Another piece of clothing flew, but fortunately Eric quickly dodged it.

"Stop laughing, idiot."

Eric didn't stop laughing, and as karma would have it, he was hit by another smelly article of clothing on his mouth.

It was a smelly piece of sock which smelled like onions. David's eyes instantly disappeared and guffawed at this turn of events.

Eric grabbed the sock and threw them at the back. He then spat some fabric which got stuck on his tongue. Seeing David beside him still laughing like there's no tomorrow, Eric punched him on the shoulder.

David retaliated and punched Eric too. They were stopped short when the Hive girls went down the stage and another group of students took the stage. They were the Banduria Club, and as soon as they started playing their bandurias, the air was filled with antiquated, folk sounds which remind one of the province. Eric remembered his previous home in the province. David's mind, on the other hand, was filled with imageries of those Chinese rural scenes whenever he rode the train back in China with his parents, when he was a kid.
