Chapter 43: Game of Wits

David kept himself busy the whole day, training his body by doing some cardio and weight exercises on his room. When he was finished in the afternoon, he was sweating heavily and breathing hard.

He took a good look on the mirror and gazed at his firm pectoral and abdominal muscles. He smirked at his own reflection.

If Eric won't get attracted to this artistic masterpiece, I don't know what will.

He gazed seductively at his own body and lusciously licked his lips while wiping his sweat with a crimson red towel. His hand slowly crept on his skin, from his chest to his abdomen, and then to the skin inside the fabric of his shorts.

He was stopped short when his phone rang loudly.

Shit.

It rang continuously until he walked over his bedside table and snatched it.

INCOMING CALL FROM XIAOGE

David rolled his eyes and sighed. He muted the phone and put it back on the table.

He returned to his intimate spot in front on the mirror when, ten seconds later, his damned phone started ringing loudly again.

Freaking...

He stomped back to the table and saw that it was another call from Xiaoge, his girlfriend in China. He pressed the mute button too violently, gritting his teeth.

He walked back to the mirror but the feeling has already escaped his system.

Fucking hell.

If only Eric were there to excite his senses...

David stomped out of his room and was about to enter the kitchen to grab a carton of milk when he heard his father's voice coming from inside.

He's already home?

David lingered in the kitchen entry way, hiding behind the wall and trying to listen to his father's words.

His father's voice was quiet, as if careful of being overheard by someone. Oddly, he was talking with a woman, and based on the shrilly voice, David reckoned it was their cleaner Marilyn.

True enough, when he peered inside the kitchen, Zhou Feng and Marilyn were talking quietly, like some kind of strategists who were intent on planning something secret.

What are they talking about?

David suddenly had chills.

Their voices were too quiet so David couldn't actually pick up the words that they're saying. So David put his ear closer to the doorway and listened.

"... it's really weird when I saw them..." Marilyn mumbled.

David couldn't pick up the words that followed, but he heard his father suck in his breath, as if distressed.

"... I've already have him attend... I saw his face and I think... it is effective..."

"Very well," Zhou Feng said. "If your theory was true... the only thing we can do... separate..."

David couldn't really understand what these two were up to, but he knew from the top of his head to the tips of his toes, that they were up to something shady. He couldn't take any of it any longer so he burst into the kitchen with furious eyes.

True enough, both Feng and Marilyn halted into complete silence, observing him.

"What are you doing here?" Feng asked arrogantly, right eyebrow raised.
