Note: Good day, guys! Another update for today. This chapter's a bit dark, but I hope you enjoy reading. Don't forget to vote if you liked it or comment some criticisms that you have in mind. I'd greatly appreciate it.

Anyway, just wanna share to you my love for this K-pop girl group called Dreamcatcher. I've been listening to their songs all day cause one of their songs played on random and I wasn't listening to their songs much these past few months, until today. Seriously, their songs just make you wanna headbang and rock out. They have this very heavy metal vibe in their songs, though some title tracks also had some orchestral, black metal influence. Love their uniqueness and their dark quality. Plus, their choreography are lit, although they're simplistic compared to other groups, but they do it with so much finesse and synchronization that it's almost like watching dark swans gliding under the moonlit lake. I love them.

I digress. Fanboy out. Here's the story.

Chapter 26: Ghost of the Terrible Past

That night, Eric was so at ease that he couldn't help smiling by himself.

He was at his house. He just finished studying for the coming exam week, and it was drizzling outside. The cool, gentle breeze rushed inside the window, cooling him. It seemed like nothing could go wrong.

He stood by the window, peering at the pale cheese color of the moon hiding in and appearing from the passing wisps of clouds in the sky.

He sighed a sigh of relief. He never felt this happy, after knowing that finally, Charlie won't be alone anymore.

The drama in the field behind the cafeteria this afternoon was too intense. It certainly fried his brain off of some brain cells. Yet, he felt like a proud older brother who's now letting his younger brother out of his cage.

He smiled at the moon as he remembered all the things that happened after his two friends confessed to each other.

They hugged each other like long-lost relatives for a couple of minutes, before Charlie wiped Olivia's tears and sheltered her in his arms. They sat on the grass and laughed wearily.

Eric didn't know what would be the relationship of those two now, but it's safe to say that both of them won't be just friends for much longer.

Olivia finally ditched him today as a companion. For the first time, Olivia went with Charlie home. God only knows where those two went after school. Maybe she finally brought her to her house and played video games or something.

Eric could only imagine.

That's why, this afternoon, David was his companion home. Eric told him everything about the Olivia x Charlie situation, and for the first time, David seemed to be so pleased with what has happened. He was all smiles. Eric could only guess why.

After everything that has happened, Eric can finally fall asleep peacefully.

He was alone in the house these couple of days because his mother sort of stayed-in in the residence that she's employed in as a cleaner.

Eric settled on his couch and began drifting to sleep. He felt the waves of dream send his spirit to a distant place.

When he opened his eyes, he was in a large house. Everything around him seemed so large: large table, large chairs, high ceilings, big plates and cutleries, even the house plant by the doorway was colossal. Or maybe, it could be that he was just small.

Eyeing his surroundings, Eric thought the house was familiar. He had been there in that house, but he couldn't remember when. It seemed like a distant memory from another life.
