Note: Hello there again. I'm just gonna let everything out. *Breathes*
Today I finished watching the six-episode miniseries Mga Batang Poz, and let me tell you, it's soooo good. Not in a way that you might expect, let's just say that series wrecked me in so many levels. It's so good! From the acting, the actors, the story itself, the drama, the advocacy, the message, and especially those literary devices that brought a lot of twists and turns, heck, I can even say that it's the most thought-out gay series I've ever seen.
It's gritty, it's controversial, it's very vulgar, damn, that series deserves an award. Especially since it tackles relevant issues that teens face these days. And then there's the wonderful characters that you can't help sympathizing for. And of course, it's not about romance, or those lovey-dovey BL types, most especially it's about something greater, it's about loving yourself. Although I must say, when those lovey-dovey moments and those steamy sex scenes arrive, they're very genuine. The scenes and the actors really hit the nail on that department, much to my delight lol.
The other scenes were heart-wrenching as well. I swear, I have a heart of stone but that shit made me cry buckets.
To be honest, at first I didn't expect something out of that show, but damn, it went beyond my expectation. I never thought I'd gush over how good that miniseries is! It's dark, it's disturbing, it's real, it's touching. It's right up my alley. Also side note, it was based on a 2018 Wattpad novel of the same name, by Segundo Matias Jr. (although it's in Filipino language) :(
My rating: 9.5 out of 10. It was that good.
There. I said it. Sorry for the long intro lol. It would be a shame if I wouldn't recommend it. It's so good, seriously, do yourselves a favor and watch it. Spread the message and the awareness. And be prepared for some hot action *wink* And also prepare those buckets. Lol.
Anyway, back to Water and Fire. Happy reading folks!

Chapter 52: Writer's Dilemma
After school, Olivia arrived home with a face that seemed like she was wrecked by a storm. Her older brother, Yael couldn't help noticing this.
He stood in front of her in the doorway with arms crossed. He wore a skimpy shorts that almost showed his balls. Thankfully, all of it were tucked, so it only accentuated his booty and hid all those unpleasant parts. He also wore a fluorescent pink tank top with a neckline that plunged to his belly button. To top it all off, he wore a golden Marilyn Monroe wig.
When she was young, seeing her kuya Yael like this would disgust Olivia. Now she's so used to it.
Yael looked at her with a smirk on his lips and mocking eyes painted with sultry mascara. "Lemme guess, you and your boyfriend broke up? ...Hush, little sister, let me finish. You know, the moment I saw that boy—Charlie isn't it?—I already knew that he's not the kind of guy for you. You know, he had this very loser-like, nerdy vibe in him. You know those narrow-minded fucks who's not that exposed to civilization? That's the kind, little sister."
Yael grabbed both her shoulders. "You're a very progressive individual, little sister, just like your fabulous brother. And guys like Charlie aren't your perfect match."
He then cupped his little sister's face and hugged her tight. He then caressed her back and dramatically cried artificial tears. "Don't feel sad now, you have your fantabulous brother right here, sis."
"Well, I'm not crying, kuya Yael," Olivia said irritably, but she nonetheless reciprocated her brother's affection, just so his feelings won't get hurt.
"I know, sis. You're not capable of crying. You're dead inside." He playfully poked her nose. "Anyway, you're crying metaphorically, sis. Not literally."
