The following days after her son Eric was completely purged by that sham priest, Marilyn couldn't have felt any happier. She knew that exorcise situation was fake, yet somehow, the images that she saw in that last session... Eric's arched back, the dark figure which came out of his mouth, his heavy breathing, the cold, droplets of sweat trickling down his face... All of it made Marilyn momentarily believe that her son might have been really possessed.
True or not, though, one thing's for sure: that David is a bad influence on Eric.
But now that the two boys have been distancing themselves from each other, Marilyn couldn't help feeling light on her feet as she sweep the floor, and cook a sweet and sour chicken that Sunday afternoon in Feng Zhou's residence.
The smell of delectable chicken sauce even made David come out of his room and sit happily with his father in the living room while watching some Chinese TV variety show.
Look how happy this family is, Marilyn thought. One thing's missing, a mother figure.
Marilyn smacked her lips to redden them before serving the casserole of chicken on the dining table, along with a variety of dishes both local and international.
Later, Feng, David, and Xiaoge huddled in the dining table. Feng looked at her and they both exchanged a knowing look as they both marvel at how joyful and so unlike himself David is as he chow on the food. David even traded happy chit-chats and wholesome jokes with Xiaoge, a first for the grumpy and arrogant boy who had stayed away from the poor girl.
Marilyn thought that Eric and David are both poisonous for each other. They affect each other in the worst possible ways. Really, boys shouldn't be together like a man and a woman should, that's really the law of nature. Like water and fire, Eric and David must stay away from each other lest they cancel each other out.
Feng tasted the sweet and sour chicken that Marilyn cooked. He looked up to Marilyn, standing beside the dining table, and smiled at her warmly.
Marilyn blushed and tucked her hair at the back of her ears. Feng's rare smiles really make her feel an unexplainable feeling.
If only this family has a mother figure, this family would be complete...
Marilyn momentarily imagined an alternate reality where this family in front of her is complete. And she's a part of it.
In the distance, near the staircase, Lisa the other housemaid was sweeping the floor. She stopped for a second and stared at Marilyn looking dreamily at their boss Feng. Feng, too, was looking back dreamily at Marilyn.
This image caused Lisa's thin body to scurry to the living room like a clacking rat skeleton. She saw another maid called Flora dusting a Chinese ornament and scurried to her. Lisa's thin fingers instantly cupped around Flora's rat-like ear, and instantly, a stream of news headlines and blow-by-blow reporting poured forth from Lisa's machine gun-like mouth, causing Flora's wide eyes to almost come out of its socket with a dramatic gasp.

That evening, David purposefully became lovey-dovey with Xiaoge as they nestled in the living room couch watching some Chinese soap opera with lots of slapping and berating.
David can feel Feng's eyes watching them from afar, possibly from the second floor balcony. Let him watch, David thought. This is what you like, right?
David can only imagine how pleased his father is with the lovey-dovey image straight out of a romance pocket book. It is the perfect image in Feng's eyes which is akin to businesses merging and becoming a gigantic corporation.
Unlike the last time, David didn't do any sexual advances towards Xiaoge, so the little girl was completely comfy, and returned his lovey-dovey gestures, an array of flying kisses, whispers of sweet-nothings, cheek-pinching, and all those diabetes-inducing gestures that kawaii culture contributed to the world.

At midnight, David found himself walking out of his room to urinate in the bathroom near the kitchen. He was nearing the kitchen entranceway when he heard muffled conversations coming from the kitchen.
"I swear, Flora, Marilyn and Feng are already having sex!"
"Hey, Lisa, watch your chatty mouth, I know that you're just exaggerating!"
David drew closer and peeked at the entranceway. He saw the housemaids Flora and Lisa lightened by the moonlight from the windows, huddled close to each other like sneaky rats coming to the kitchen to eat scraps.
Lisa slapped Flora's wide shoulder. "I swear, I saw them exchanging dirty looks with each other today! And yesterday! And the previous days! I swear!"
"You always swear, yet your reports are always full of fillers!"
"This time I'm sure!" Lisa screamed and whispered at the same time. "Come to think of it, why do you think's the reason why Feng and his wife kept on arguing over the phone every single day, ha? Marilyn's clearly the reason! Ever since she came here, Feng and his wife argued even more over the phone than they did when we were back in China!"
Flora kept quiet for some seconds, pouting, fingering her double chin, then she spoke. "I'm still not sold on that. Let's be on the lookout for more clues before concluding on that. And besides, what do you think will happen if boss Feng hear us gossiping about him, ha? Our heads will roll on the floor!"
Flora stopped for a second then smiled slyly. "But I'm definitely sure on one thing though..."
"What's that?!"
"David clearly is gay for Marilyn's son."
This was followed by even softer whispers and giggles.
David didn't urinate in the restroom nearby, and went back to his room. He suddenly remembered he has his own bathroom inside his room.
As the stream of urine flowed down from his cock, all he could think of was how gossipy those housemaids are. They must be axed.
