For the next few days, David practiced every single day for the upcoming basketball competition against the two schools for the inter-school friendly games. David isn't really bent on beating the rival schools. He need not try, anyway. The reason why he play basketball is just for the heck of it. He's even willing to be with the three jerks—that's how he loves the sport.

Every time he's in the court, sweating, adrenaline pumping through his system, David feels worthy. It seemed like basketball is the only thing that he's best at. Though he knows he wouldn't replace his father in managing businesses and shit, basketball's always there for him, making him confident in himself.

David wondered why Jarwin the rogue-faced bully seemed to have changed. Yes, he might have been mellow since David taught him a lesson at the staircase incident months ago, but now, the kid's extra mellow. Like, he would zone out occasionally, especially during water breaks. He just stood staring at the far end of the gym wall, drinking from his water bottle.

And it seemed like his two minions, Loco and Jaguar, weren't his minions anymore. It seemed like the terror trinity has been broken, and now, it's only Loco and Jaguar, the devil duo, who seemed to wreak havoc in the campus, without Jarwin's participation.

What happened to this jerk?! David eyed him suspiciously with a raised eyebrow. When the coach whistled for the players for another set, Jarwin snapped out of his daze and jogged back to the center of the court.

Meanwhile, the devil duo sat at the distance, whispering at each other with poisonous look on their faces. They were staring at Jarwin.

David looked at Jarwin again, this time intently listening to something that their coach was telling him.

When Jarwin caught David staring at him, Jarwin scrunched his face and mouthed, "What are you looking at?" His deep red bandanna complemented the evil look of his eyes.

After the practice, David decided to trail behind Jarwin. The bully walked along the hallway. He walked lackadaisically, with a gait of someone who seemed to be jaded in life.

When Jarwin reached the staircase, he stopped for a second to look behind. Like a quick mouse, David scurried to the pillar foundation of the hallway and hid behind it.

Jarwin's face was full of confusion and bored sadness. He moved again, and David continued following him carefully. David was a little confused when Jarwin didn't take the stairs down.

It's already nearing seven in the evening, so David wondered where the hell Jarwin would go at this time besides going home.

Jarwin took the stairs to the fourth floor.
