David didn't exactly know the reason why Xiaoge was in the classroom with him, sitting prettily on the chair beside him today, looking at her shiny fingernails endlessly and using her smartphone camera as a mirror every 4.5 seconds.

Their teachers were totally fine with her inside the classroom, as long as she kept herself well-behaved. And she did behave properly, much to David's relief.

He later realized that bringing her in the school might be his own undoing.

He knew that he's to blame. Impulsively, he ordered her to come to school with him this morning. Of course, the girl was delighted. Sticking close to her sweetheart all the time is one of the things that made her feel pretty. And besides, she was getting bored in the Zhou residence, watching all those Chinese variety shows and taking thousands of selfies. She wished that school might resume back in China.

For now, she kept herself occupied by the fact that her baobei David is proud to parade her in this public school. It made her feel like a goddess with an unmatched beauty. Unexplainable, warm feelings smothered her heart.

Eric didn't know why David's girlfriend is in the classroom right now. The only thing he was sure of is that he didn't like her there. She was the one who kicked her previously when David and he had an altercation. She even called him a bad man.

She kept on squinting at him like Eric is a criminal. Eric avoided eye contact at all costs and distracted himself with the discussions of what makes a good essay taught by their Creative Non-fiction teacher.

When the lunch bell rang, Celeste and her bee friends approached David's and Xiaoge's seats.

Celeste put a hand over her mouth. "Oh, who's this, Davey?"

David was leaning on his chair with both arms crossed. With a lazy expression on his face, he answered, "My girlfriend."

Celeste's eyes became round, that kind of expression that you can see when a character saw a horrific ghost in a horror movie. "Wha—what is the meaning of this? You've already replaced me?!"

David smirked. "There's nothing between us in the first place."

Celeste was taken aback and glanced at the two bees beside her, then looked at David again, this time with furrowed brows. "And now you're denying what we had?!"

Xiaoge stood up abruptly. "Baobei, what is this whore talking about?!"

Celeste approached Xiaoge. "You dare call me whore, you little slut?!"

Celeste towered over Xiaoge, but the latter looked like a bun that's steaming in anger. She looked like she was about to toast the queen bee to ashes.

David stood up from his seat and lazily put himself between the two girls. He looked at Celeste with a threatening gaze. This time, it was him who towered over the queen bee.

"Stop your delusions, Celeste. And stop causing trouble..."

He then pulled Xiaoge into his arms, hugging her. "Xiaoge is my one and only girlfriend."

Oddly, while he was saying these words, he was deliberately looking at Eric with a bitter look on his face.

Eric noticed this, looked briefly at David's bitter face, then quickly averted his gaze.

Celeste dramatically put both of her palms on her face then sobbed artificially. She walked briskly away from the scene, followed by her Hive friends who consoled her.
