Note: Yay! Double update for today! Also, I've been listening to TRCNG's new mini album, Rising. All the songs are sooo good. Seriously, I've never heard of that group before, but their recent songs are good to the ears. Paradise, Island, and Missing are bomb y'all. Anyway, have fun reading! A few days more before the new semester starts, I'd probably be busier again, but I hope classes would be suspended because the rain is relentless! •́  ‿ ,•̀

Chapter 56: That Person

"Oh my dear God!" Phoebe exclaimed with both hands on her recently-lipsticked mouth.

Her and Olivia just went out of the restroom and in the distant table across the hallway, they saw Eric and David holding hands.

"I knew there's something realer between them," Phoebe hissed insidiously.

"Girl, I've seen better days," Olivia said matter-of-factly. "If you were our classmate, you'd know what I'm talking about."

Phoebe rolled her eyes. "Whatever, for me, this is already everything! It's like all my fantasies have come to life… even though they looked like a storm just wrecked the both of them."

Olivia curled her nose at the scene. "Let's fix these two," she whispered.

Both girls then walked towards the table, and as Eric saw them approaching, he quickly and forcefully wrenched his hand free of David's forceful grasp. He rolled his eyes at David subtly, then smiled at Olivia.

"Oh, here you are already," Olivia cheerfully said. "I'm so glad you came, Eric. There was only the three of us, so we were getting lonely around here… especially David." She winked at the last phrase.

Eric ignored her. "So now, there's only the four of us? How about our classmates that you said you've invited?"

"Oh, uh…" Olivia glanced around, looked at the ceiling, then smiled sheepishly. "They just called me, they said they won't be able to make it."

David glanced at Olivia then squinted at her. Something's fishy here…

"So, anyway, let's go back to our table?" Olivia asked.

The two guys stood up, then followed the two girls to the table at the farthest corner of the restaurant.

Like lightning, Olivia and Phoebe occupied the seats facing each other, forcing Eric and David to sit at the remaining seats that also faced each other.

As soon as Eric sat, he averted his gaze from David. He felt so uneasy. On the other hand, David had his penetrating gaze fixed on Eric. The latter felt that David was looking at him, so it made him more uneasy.

"You're close to each other, right?" Phoebe asked. "Aren't you gonna talk about anything?"

David smirked. "I wanna talk about something, but a particular person doesn't want to talk to me." He deliberately gazed at his surroundings. "Who could that person be?"

Eric shuffled on his seat. "I… I'm so happy I'm here." He turned to Olivia. "Glad you invited me here. Can't wait to eat. I heard they have their famous spare ribs here? I've seen that on that TV show. What was that show? Food Talk?"

"Yeah, Phoebe here was the one who told me about the pork rib platter."

David snorted loudly, crossed his arms, then gazed at the ceiling.

Phoebe and Olivia side-eyed each other, fully aware of the growing tension between these guys.

Phoebe broke the silence. "So, David, you're a transferee, right? How do you find our school?"
