Chapter 59: Wild Demon

It was the weekend, so David woke up at eleven in the morning, just like any typical teenager. He sat up on his bed then stared at the void, smacking his dry lips and suddenly remembering a memory from last night. Eric's pretty face appeared in his mind. He wondered if last night was a dream, when he walked Eric home and gave him money.

Because these past few days, David has been feeling like everything was a dream. It was like watching your own self merely existing, from afar, like a movie spectator. Life without Eric felt like that.

But then he thought that last night might be real.

He shook his head firmly, shaking off the sleepiness from his body. He got up, went to the rest room, and brushed his teeth. He saw the dark circles around his eyes. He rubbed them for a moment then lifelessly went out of his bedroom.

Xiaoge appeared in his doorway like a sudden apparition. She looked particularly cuter today. Her hair was tucked into five, small buns on her head, like dumplings on a steamer. Her cheeks were rosier today, and her facial expression was so sugary that David felt nauseously diabetic.

"Good morning, baobei!" She shrieked.

David didn't feel like interacting with her for the moment, so he just nodded despondently and walked away.

But Xiaoge pulled him back. "Baobei, why are you being like this?" She pouted. "You know I miss you! You came home so late last night, I even waited for you in my room watching that reality show! And when you arrived I went to you but you said you were sleepy so you went to your room. And now you're acting like you're sleepy again. What's up with you? And where did you really go last night? I should have went with you so you can be happier instead of being like this! You know, I tried searching for you but I couldn't because I couldn't contact you. I even went outside the village but returned again. If I knew where you were, I woul follow you! But I couldn't contact you! Did you turn off your phone, ah? Why did you turn off your phone ah?! Maybe I can install tracking app on your phone so I could locate you anytime! Baobei, don't go off like that ever again, okay? I don't—”

David's ears felt like they were about to explode. He couldn't take any more second of the girl's nagging so he suddenly covered her mouth with his big palm—it almost covered her entire petite face.

Finally, she stopped. She breathed hard against David's palm and tried to set herself free from David but he was too strong.

David suddenly pulled her closer to him and stared into her eyes. "Shut your mouth."

Seductively, David traced Xiaoge's nose with his other free hand, making the girl feel tingly feelings in her stomach. Her eyes were round in disbelief mixed with shock.

David finally let her go. Xiaoge felt weak and leaned on the wall breathing very hard.

David took a last look at her before going to the kitchen, a smirk on his lips.

When Monday morning arrived, David was excited to see the only person that mattered to him.

He was seated beside David, face buried in his notes.

"Hey."

Eric slowly raised his face and stared at David with lifeless eyes.

"What the..." David muttered, shocked at the dark circles around Eric's eyes that made him look like a zombified panda. "What happened to you?!"

Eric weakly smiled. "Nothing."

David grabbed Eric's chin and tilted his face right and left, observing it. Eric also grew thinner. "Does this look like nothing to you?"
