Ella settled on the couch by the side of the window gazing the vast view of the darkness. The day's event had almost cast a sort of kenopsia into her. She was in a state of absolute emptiness since the moment Diego had uttered the words that was near foreign to her.

There wasn't a single memory she could gather someone telling those words to her.

Silence filled the room.

And all of a sudden as if she was out of trance, some sort of realisation, Ella shirked and smacked her head.

"Why, Ella? Why? Where did your self control go?

Why did you let Luciana's words affect you so much?" She grumbled as she recalled the way she had reacted to her words and that too, in front of Diego.

She felt embarrassed expressing her vulnerability to him. What would he have thought about her? She thought as she shut her eyes from the bugging embarrassment though his presence comforted her to a great extend.

"I won't leave you, Ella because I love you. I love you and I can't live without you"

"Why did he said that? To calm me down?...
Did he really mean it?..." She wondered.

A sudden ache formed in her heart as the question popped.

She knew very well, there wasn't a tinge bit of hint that showed lie in his eyes. The moment was something else she never felt before. An incoherent phase.

A light knock on her door broke her train of thoughts. Outside the room stood Chandra looking worn out. Ella took a glance at the watch that hugged her wrist, it was six in the morning.

"Chandra ma?" surprised at the sudden early visit of Chandra, Ella stood still unsure.

"Sorry, have I woke you up? I saw the lights were on, thought of checking on you. How are you now?" Chandra's motherly affection left her teary.

However, she controlled.

"Come in, Chandra ma. I wasn't sleeping. Sleep is far from my reach" Ella moved away letting Chandra in.

"I know. The day has been worst for all" Chandra stopped moving and stood in the middle of the room as if contemplating on something.

Ella begin to feel a rush of guiltiness as she felt responsible for so much happenings in the house. Apart from that, Chandra's sudden silence were scaring her too.

"Chandra ma?" she called and the lady turned around.

"Do you believe Luciana —" Ella was interjected even before she could finish off her sentence.

"Not even a bit, sweetie. I know you would never do that. You will never try to be an impostor of Ara Agosti.

I know you, Ella and I will never judge you"

Ella stood stupefied with tears flowing like an open dam as Chandra spoke. Unable to control anymore, she broke down as Chandra held her in an embrace.

"Shh... it's okay. Everything is going to be fine. I promise you" Chandra cooed and wiped her wet cheeks.

Whether it is you or her, it doesn't matter. You will always be here, with all of us. Alright"

Ella felt warmness surrounding her with Chandra's words that were pushing her into a deeper emotional state. She was too weak to even utter a word, Ella slowly laid her head on Chandra's lap.

'Was the day a blessing or curse?' Ella drifted to sleep as the touch of mother soothed her.

Chandra continued to stroke Ella's hair, staring at her fondly. Silently wishing her to be the girl they were looking for.
